When Gorbachev said Perestroika..her may not have had any idea what it would mean or rather how good it will mean for B schools business all over the world especially amrika!

Now get your facts straight..It costs a fortune to get a MBA from Amrika and for that matter anywhere from the UK, etc.

Now the point is Indians form a major chunk of international students. For most of the lower rung bschools who apply to them thinking to make an american dream come true or will dollar dream in their eyes..quite ironically the bschools too look at these candidates with dollars in their eyes..I mean for lower rung b schools it is just business.

I recommend not to apply in any of the lower rung b schools as ..to recover your investments from such schools is a questionable and almost impossible which you realise only later when it's too late.Select the TOP 20 thats should be your diet..nothing below that..Check out this website for ranking..

or usnews.com is also a good alternate

My next focus would be on GMAT and TOEFL..Work hard on the scores..do not compromise on the studies part thinking that if you get a lower score you can still manage a admission in lower rung b school..if u think this way(many students I have interacted with have this tendency though not all of em) better stay in India and start a decent business with the money you pooled in for school studies.

A good score on GMAT and TOEFL will give you a good start which will reflect in your career thoroughout.

Also if you want to prepare for GMAT..my advice is to join studygroups on web..yahoo groups or groups on msn..they help you a lot and you can get a feel of the latest situation be it GMAT, general questions and last minute changes and news with regards to it.

Last but not the least..never ever think of studying abroad as a party for two years on your parents money because when the years are over you suddenly realise that you hardly got anything except that you burned all your money for an alien country for an equally alien purpose..u know what I mean!

cheers!
