This is the worst company to purchase health insurance from. Please read my review carefully before making up your mind. Purchased policy in 2010 with parents also included as they were aging. Selected Apollo since they had a cashless facility tie up with a hospital closest to my house(the hospital is the best in town). In Aug 2014 my father had to be suddenly admitted as he had a stroke, we go to the hospital to start the tests and admission formalities and we are told no cashless facility can be provided.


We tried calling Apollo call centre and authorities, but none of them responded since it was a Sunday, we proceeded and paid all the bills. For the next 3 days after constant arguments with Apollo call centre and local authorities we were denied cash less facility and the hospital authorities say that the licences are to be renewed which were lapsed long ago. To much more surprise all the insurance companies whose proposals I rejected all had a tie up for cashless with this hospital now. Which insurance company wouldn’t renew their tie-ups/licenses with hospitals? When I call the call centre they ask me to call the local authorities and when I call the local authorities they ask me to call the call centre. Well I continued paying the bills, for next 10 days till my father was discharged. I then go to claim the bills, it took more then 10 days for the executive to take out time to meet me to help me fill up the form, asks for all original bills, prescriptions, X-rays, CT scans, reports, blood reports, discharge summary, etc and tells in next 7 working days the claim will be settled but will not pay for gloves, adult diapers, and few more items. When I asked him why he said cause usually the hospital tricks you and sells more of these items and hence they are not covered. It has been more then 10 days there is no news about my claim, neither does the local authority pick my call, and the call center keeps saying call the local authorities.


I got a system generated mail stating that my hospitalization bill of Rs. 15281/- is being processed for claim and settled in next 7 working days, this was the smallest bill. Tests and medicines were much much much more expensive. I called the local authorities asking them to co-ordinate with the claim team and settle the entire amount but as usual they didn’t respond and messaged me saying that claim takes 30-45 working days, obviously they don’t want a call from me therefore have sent that message so that I be silent. I don’t know how to convey my message to the claim team to settle all the bills. I will fight for my claim and they will act smart by asking me to send the rest of the bills which I have already sent. I feel more then the hospital it is Apollo Munich Health Insurance that has tricked me.
