American Express - Best Card in India. Review on American Express Credit Card

Yes Guys, you heard me. American Express Gold Charge card is the best card in India. I have been using this card from last 7 yrs and believe me now I am using only American Express card. I know there are many places where American Express card does not work, there I use my Debit card. But in the past seven years, number of times I missed the credit card payment last date and O boy! everytime you speak to their Customer Care people, they always make my day. Their Customer care people have all rights to waived off all late fees charges, service tax etc. None of the other card's customer care will do this for you. You have to call them number of times raise a ticket with them, chase them and still you are not sure if they will waive off charges or not. But with American Express, if their customer care executive says charges have been removed that means removed. You can see an update with in 24 hrs in your statement. And the way their Customer care executive talk to you, Its really feel good. they have the energy and they talk to you as a friend. I never felt they are bored with their jobs, like other card's customer care executive, they are like a robots. They always speak like they are reading a script but this never happened with American Express Customer care executives.

Now, I have been reading so many reviews in Mouthshut, where people mentioned that they don't understand the credit limit of American Express Gold Charge card, they have been charged an annual fees and all that allegations. Well those people never read the term and conditions. They are the people who always wanted a life time free credit card. First of all, None of the American Express card is life time free credit card. Now lets talk about American Express Gold Charged Card limit, it does not have any limit. They have an automatic system which calculates your monthly spending and set your limit accordingly. So let suppose you received your American Express Gold Charge Card and in first year your highest spending is 50k. So, your card upper limit will set on 50k. Now, in the second year your highest spending of the month is 150k. So your card upper limit will set on 150k. This is how it works. But suddenly on third year you thought that you wanna buy an Alto with this card. Yes people you can buy it. The moment you swipe your card, you received a call from American Express team to confirm if you are swiping the 350k. If you confirm, you card upper limit will set on 350k. So this was an upper limit. Now, next year, your card's highest spending is again 150k then your card's upper limit will be reduced to an average of 150k and 350k. So you see, if they are decreasing the upper limit, its for our safety. So that if we lost the card, thief cant miss use it.

If you lost your card and some how the thief was able to crack you pin and swipe your card and buy goodies, let suppose 20k. All you need to do is call the customer care and tell them you lost your card and the thief swipe for 20k. They will block your card and you just need to pay Rs.1000/-. Rest will be taken care by American Express.

Now lets talk about their annual charges. Yes they have annual charges, which they waived off, if you speak to their customer care people. In my initial two yrs, I have just paid Rs 1200/- as annual charges instead of Rs 4500/-. And from third year, they themselves reversed 100% annual charges. All you need to do is speak to their customer care executive. They are available 24/7.

With American Express Cold Charge Card, they are giving points like a hell. you have a monthly bonus of 1000 points which you get if you swipe you card twice  and amount should be greater than or equal to Rs 1000/-.

So guys there are so much good memories I can share it with you but I cant cover them all. Overall, I am fully satisfied with American Express card. To know more about it, you have to use it and if you face any problem, do speak to their Customer care. You feel good.
