I feel this review is:
I have had a harrowing experience at Amazon. I had ordered(ORDER # 403-1333362-4240337) an LG washing machine on 11 Oct and paid for it(Rs 17912.70) from my American Express credit card as there was a cash back offer of 10%.
As the order was not reflecting in'My Orders' I spoke to Amazon via chat and confirmed that AMEX has paid the amount. However, Amazon claimed that they have not received the money and cancelled the order.
As the purchase was a gift for my wife on her birthday I again placed an order for the same washing machine. Now, the AMEX offer had ended and I ended up paying Rs 20, 395 for the same item(ORDER # 408-3867413-6122739) from my other credit card.
I had reconciled myself to this stroke of bad luck, but was aghast when I saw my AMEX CC statement showing that I have been billed Rs 17912.70 by Amazon.
I spoke to AMEX call center where I was informed that Amazon had raised a claim for this amount and it has been approved vide approval no 125122.
I then spent almost two and half hours speaking to Amazon customer care via chat and phone and explaining the issue. I was also told by the customer care person that AMEX cards are not accepted and they always have a problem. Hello, there was a banner ad for using AMEX card on Amazon website that day!?!
The response I have received is that Amazon will get back to you within 7 to 10 business days.
So friends for an item which I should have paid Rs 17912.70, I am paying Rs 38, 308.(my credit card billing cycle is such). Going by Amazon's track record I have no idea when I will get a refund.and even if I get a refund I will end up paying Rs 2382/= more fort he same item, on top of that I have been plunged into a financial crisis.
Amazon India’s tagline is #aurdikhao for their latest campaign and I can only say "Please aur mat diakhao"
