Hats off Amazon. You simply made me "AMAZED" :). Review on Amazon

Amazon India has started showing its true professionalism. I have ordered 3 sets of led bulbs(yes, not 3 sets of big trunks full of led bulbs) under "amazon fulfilled" category.

I'm based in Bangalore.

Order details: All Ordered on 13 November 2014, delivery estimate on Tuesday 18 November 2014 as per Amazon.in

1) ORDER # 403-2997341-2077106

Status: Thank God, I got the item on 19th November 2014 at 5:30 PM. ONLY a small 1 day delay in delivery.

2) ORDER # 403-9203817-9518742

Status: Today is 20 November 2014, Not yet delivered. Time is still there till end of the world.

3) ORDER # 403-3126305-6723534

Status: Today is 20 November 2014, Not yet delivered. Time is still there till end of the world.

Now the biggest joke is when you click on the track package status, all the items are in Bangalore itself from 17 November 2014.

Amazon is taking more than 3 days to deliver some packages in Bangalore itself!

Out of frustration, decided to call customer care today(20 November 2014), talked to an executive and according to her, the delay is caused by Amazon Transportation Services.

Finally she told the exact reason of delay is "COURIER BOY IS NOT AVAILABLE"! Hats off Amazon. You simply made me "AMAZED":)

I lost my temper upon hearing the clarification and I told her I want to escalate this case to get a resolution. But her answer again pushed me back to stone age:)

"Sir, I can only escalate this case internally in Amazon and we cannot provide you any reference number or case id!"

Requested her to connect to her manager and told again her - "now please don't tell me there are no managers in Amazon"

After waiting approx. 10 long minutes, One guy named Raman(Customer Supervisor) picked up call and apologized to me many times for the delay.

I only wanted to escalate my case to senior management in Amazon(If there is any) and why amazon is consecutively not able to meet the delivery date.

As usual he kept on swearing he will make sure that my package will be delivered "as soon as possible". I asked him to clarify what is Amazon's definition of "as soon as possible".

Finally he told me the real answer - He cannot promise me any date. This means that if I'm lucky I will get my courier - else go to hell.

What surprised me really in this case is Amazon doesn't even provide any case id/reference number for a customer escalation - even the supervisor told me the same! So it must be true.

Again, Hats off Amazon. You simply made me "AMAZED":)

Finally, to wind up my review with the following points:

1> Searched in Amazon website for getting clarity on "amazon fulfilled" items. Following is the meaning:

"Fulfilment by Amazon(FBA) helps you increase your online sales by giving you access to Amazon’s world-class fulfilment resources, fast, free delivery options for your products, and trusted and acclaimed customer service."

WOW, what a customer oriented service!

2> Why Amazon is depending on such a pathetic courier service to spoil their own reputation? I really liked Flipkart's eKart service - I have received all my orders within 48 hours after placing the order on Flipkart.

3> What is the whole point of delivery estimate time provided in Amazon, if it cannot be fulfilled even for so called "amazon fulfilled" items? As a side note, Amazon keeps a very safe sweet time of 5 days

as the delivery estimate after placing the order. Even this cannot be achieved - what a shame!

In my opinion, They can give the status as "Thanks for being so daring to place an order on Amazon. Now, don't try to call us, if you are lucky, your package will be delivered, else go to hell"

That will be more realistic.

4> I really wonder if Amazon.in is the real brand Amazon which is serving abroad in US and all. If it is so, then they have really come down to meet Indian customers.
