I bought my Alcatel 301 exactly 1 year back and it has given me tremendous value for money.
This was my first cell phone and everyone was pursuing me to go the Nokia way. However when I saw this one in the shop and heard the price, I immediately liked this and bought it.
The battery is much better then all other phones that I have seen with friends. It lasts for a week on standby !!
The reception too is clear. Many expensive handsets too do not have the hands-free function which this phone has. It works great when travelling.
There is a WAP feature too, but I don't think WAP is usable / affordable in its current form.
The SMS features are good with T9 capabilities. The only feature that it lacks is SMS Send to Many option, but that's ok.
Downloadable ring-tones would have helped a lot and could be the only reason for me to switch on to some other phone.
