There is a proverb about Khwaja Garib Nawaz; a great sufi master - If Baba calls you;then he will also make arrangement for you. Well, Ajmer is known for its two sacred spots- Dargah of Khwaja Garib Nawaz and Pushkar Theerth- a sacred lake dedicated to Lord Brahma. Many hindu pilgrims conduct annual rites for their departed souls here. There are only temples dedicated to Lord Brahma- first at Badrinath shrine and second at Pushkar Theerth .
Ajmer may be a small town but its popularity knows no bounds.
I can confidently say, its popularity lies in these very sacred shrines.
Ajmer is also famous for its sohan halwa -a very good sweet.
It is populous because pilgrims and tourists keep visiting it in large numbers.
It is quite cold during wintry nights and hot during summer.
One can stay in a hotel, lodge, inn.
In my humble view, if you are paying a visit(known as Jiyarat or teerth yatra);then let almighty be your guide. Forget about others and enjoy these precious and very sacred moments!
