I bought a Grandfather clock "Ajanta" make two years ago by paying a whopping price of Twenty eight thousand Rupees.
It looks grand with wooden cabinet and all. But the main feature of it i.e. Westminster Chime stopped functioning within a month. Complained to the dealer. He sent his man twice, changed the circuit but to no avail.Inspite of one years warranty, dealer does not bother. Says company is not giving replacement for the chime mechanism.
I wrote to the company. They did not bother to reply. Now I have this clock which looks majestic but is a mute clock. I had a great image about Ajanta, word's largest clock manufacturer et all. But they do not bother about their customers. After paying such a grand sum they do not even reply to your letters. I advise people not to spend huge amount on Ajanta Grandfather Clocks. Cheaper Chinese versions are available. My friend bought one for just over Rs. 8000/- it is working perfectly for last over a year.
