I am entering the site after a long time...and this review is after more than a year...


Infact Its not a review..Its a letter which I have written to the customer care of Airtel for the excellent service provided.


Please read it and Please overlook any Grammatical errors in the mail...as I havent read it after I wrote it and forwarded it directly to the customer care group..


here it goes..

I dont know where to start with my complaints....


AIRTEL EXPRESS YOURSELF.. I HAVE EXPRESSED & EXPERIENCED IT AS WELL...PLS READ...


AIRTEL the name best suits the company..all tell tales only in AIR nothing in real..


My horrible story with AIRTEL begins from MONDAY 2nd of MAY when I took the most stupid decision in life to take a post pain yes it has to be POST PAINwith AIRTEL connection..I still regret the day...I can go to the extreme of calling it a BLACK DAY in my life..


The person whom I contacted for my post paid connection.

The representative who visited me at my residence, Mr Dinesh,.had come to my place on Monday with the application form which was duly filled by me and I had provided my Office ID card xerox along with my Passport Xerox.


I had specifically mentioned to Ramesh as well as Dinesh that my billing address would be Residential.


All these formalities were over and I was promised to get my SIM card activated within 3 days.


I was given a choice of numbers and I selected the number 98670 XXXXXX


Ramesh told me that since I had been given the option of choosing my number I wont be able to get benefit of the Rs. 50 free card which Airtel provides till the postpaid connection is activated. I was quite Ok with it since I had my earlier BPL prepaid connection still working. And I dint bother about the Rs. 50 free card as long as my connnection would be activated in 3 days..


Days passed and on Friday 5th MAY I got a call from Airtel guys saying that my Residential Address has been confirmed and my number would be activated the next day..this was on 6th. But Nothing happened and Since my Parents were leaving for native place I needed my telephone connection activated soon..Since My BPL prepaid had exhausted and I was just receiving incoming calls..


I had called up Ramesh chandra every day since 5th asking about the status of my Connection but he used to be promise me everyday that it wud definetely be activated within that day or the next day but his days never came and he sounded like someone who dint have any clue about whats happening with the connection.


Another interesting part of the story is that On Friday he told me that My Verification was negative and that The guys dint find anyone at my residential address and claimed to have visited my Place on 4th. I told him thats not possible at all coz I m whole day at home since I m preparing for my Exams and I have taken leave from my Office..and Its not at all possible that anyone from my residence was not available.


Later on he told me that My Office verification was negative as I was not present in Office.


The sales team guys from Airtel called me up to say that My Verification was negative as I was not there in office. I was too surprised at such a Foolish unprofessional behaviour by the Airtel guys, when I have specifically told them that I have taken leave for 2 weeks from office it was but obvious that Im not present in Office..Doesnt take rocket science to discover that and Also If I have provided my billing Address as my residence Why would you also need me at Office.?.


I have no problems in My office verification,as The Airtel guys also met my colleagues there and they told them the same thing and also provided my BPL mobile number to them.BUt does that make Sense..??????


I was too confused as to what was happening as On Friday I received a call that my Residential address has been confirmed from AIRTEL and that my SIM would be activated and on Saturday I get another call from AIRTEL that My verification is negative. IS THIS A JOKE?????


I immediately decided to call the AIRTEL Customer Care. I got my complaint lodged with a lady whose name I dont remember..but It was the most pathetic service I have ever experinced till date. The lady kept me on hold with the AIRTEL music ''ON'' for long time.. I used to like the music earlier but after this instance I started geting irritated. I spent around 30 minutes or perhaps more on phone call with this female explaining her everything with long BREAKS in between. THANKS TO HER.. I dont know what was she confirming and with whom...Finally after 30 odd minutes I got my request number as 8287769. WHAT AN ACHIEVMENT.


This was on SATURDAY 6th MAY. The only thing which the female kept on repeating was ''I Am very sorry'' ''DONT WORRY'' ''PLS MAY I PUT U ON HOLD FOR 30 SEC's.. I have purposely put 30 Sec's in RED font ...coz this 30 secs took 30 minutes till finally I got my request number..She assured an promised me that It would be definetely actioned upon but was not sure too give me a ETA (Expected turnaround). I also gave her my BPL mobile number, My VICE PRESIDENTS Contact time. MY MANAGERS CELL NUMBER...Even Home loan guys would not require so much details,,,,I have no problems in providing details BUT WHAT ARE YOULL DOING WITH IT...HATCHING EGGS..???.


On 8th MAY I again called up Ramesh Chandra and asked him about the status he told me that It will be activated by 5 p.m. The very day. (Just check the way these people lie with customers).


I knew he wont be able to do it as he had already promised even earlier..But that day he gave me another shock '' He told me that they have mistakenly put my Billing address as Office address'' (HOW CAN SOMEONE BE SO UNPROFESSIONAL).And still he was pretty fine with the commitment of 5 P.m. that day.


I called up the customer support once again to know the status there..Another person with the same recorded style of speaking gave me exactly the same crap. DONT WORRY, I AM SORRY, and I WILL DEFINETELY forward the request,,,Nothing happened...


It was not like People speaking with people It was like People speaking with ROBOTS.


they have exactly the same words to repeat Imagine how irritating it could be to hear exactly same words from Different people...Is this the way training is imparted on How to speak with Customers...IF IT IS THEN I M NOT SORRY TO SAY ..ITS THE MOST PATHETIC WAY OF TREATING CUSTOMER QUERIES.. Imagine my status I m not with a connection and they say DONT WORRY and do nothing abt it.and make people wait for more than a minute saying the same Dialogue ''CAN I KEEP U ON HOLD FOR 30 SECONDS..DO THEY KNOW HOW MUCH TIME IS 30 SECONDS..'' SERIOUSLY THE MOST RIDICULOUS SERVICE I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS,,


On 9th I again called Customer support and I told the lady to transfer me to a senior or manager as I understood a bit late though that nothing is happening...I was transferred to a lady named Bhakti..I gave her my request Id and she told me that she will be following up the case..The only person from AIRTEL who called me back the same day stating that she is still following up and wanted to confirm my request number again..Still nothing happened.. contd....
