Thanks to MTNL - after getting a tough life with MTNL for 19 months, I decided to use Airtel, and I would say that has been one of the good things – although I do feel that speed, sometimes, is not as good as that MTNL gives, but the reliability part does outweigh everything else.
Installation: It took just two working days to get connection at my home after calling them.
Wiring: No loose wires – a separate team / person came to my home just for the wiring - very much professional.
Speed: 256 kbps is good for most of the tasks – general browsing, listening songs online, watching u-tube or working through remote-desktop.Although sometimes it seems that the speed of an 256kbs@Airtel isless than that of aworking 256kbp@ MTNL, but then maths says 2007x24 > 2562*20
Helpdesk/Support:
Complaint Handling: Excellent –they do listen to you and give you a complaint-reference number too( well, I am an ex-MTNL customer…so, this really sounds like a dream come true!). I have called them a couple of times, and they did help me.
Technical Support:Didn’t need it till now, but I guess they should be good, or at least at par with other guys in the industry.
Cost:Slightly costly when compared to similar MTNL connection – 799+ taxes.
Reliability:Fairly good – not a single failure in past two months!
Customers' delight:1. They gave me a wireless modem and then some cash- back too.wow! I was expecting only an ADSL for 799
- Airtel gives you(a paid one) option of anit-virus also.
Cons:Marketing team / the guys who came to get the form filled at my home(yes, they came to my home…boy, I do hate MTNL nowadays) could have been more professional - but still this was alright as these'friendly' guys gave me a plan of wireless modem and cash-back(some introductory/festival etc) offer.
