Air India has been one of the premiere airlines of the country for more than a decade now. But slowly and steadily its condition is deteriorating. I had a very bad experience with the airline.
I was travelling from Bangalore to Delhi on a non-stop Air-India flight.
First of all the check-in counters were very difficult to locate, and when I succeeded in locating one, it turned out to be a nightmare. Since, its a government airline one generally doesn't expect much from it either. And it did not disappoint me either. The staff was not ready to help, infact, one of them even refused to reply. At the end I had to do a web check-in.
You expect Air-India flight to be late as always but this time to my surprise the flight was on-time,and we had our boarding on time.
There was actually a space crunch in terms of seat space. There was no leg room so to say.
There was an individual screen with a game console attached to it. And yes there were some really cool movies and songs to keep you occupied. Also there was an altitude meter wherein you could occasionally check at what height are you currently and what geographical territory you are passing through.
There was a complimentary meal also. But, the food was stale and was looking as if it had rotted for days. I could see many co-passengers returning their tray of food.
The flight attendants were as expected, polite and helpful.
The flight was not at all comfortable when it comes to seats and you could feel pain in your legs due to the space crunch.
Also the Air India ground staff was not at all supportive.
I would not recommend anyone to travel in Air-India until and unless the flight rates are dirt cheap.
