How do I start! Well, I have just come home from the IGI Airport after being denied a boarding. This too because of thier own mismanagement . They have hired ad hoc people totally untrained staff who know nothing about custome service.
I was atthe T3( does it mean trouble 3) terminal and was I the que for boarding the air india Flight to Lucknow from Delhi. I was suddenly informed that the boarding was over and that I should contact the last counter . When I went there it was already a scene of frantic activity . When I requested the counter manager -one south Indian gentleman - for assistance n boarding he promptly took my e ticket .I thought well here is a graceful man. The next moment he wrote Reported at 1605 hours and returned it back to me saying I could not board the flight . t was not even 1605 hours. It was 15.55 hrs when I went to him and I had been there at the airport within the 45 minute period .My flight was at 4.30. I did not have any luggage or anything to check in and no amount of entreaties or requests would budge him. My explanation that I was misguided by the staff had no effect on him. You should know how to come on time.You can go and get your refund if any.
With not much choice I went to the ticket counter here I presented the ticket and my story. The man behind the counter told me to give him more money for the next flight. I told him that I had not asked him to book one and wanted the status on the refund. I was told then that 08t of the ticket price of 1850 only taxes will be refunded . The fare will be forfeited 100%. He stamped a No show on the ticket and gave it
back to me.
Imagine being present in person and the satmp is of no show. Anyway when I decided to come out I was infomed that only when an air India employee esc#rts me out can I go out of the airport.So again I had to go and beg someone to take me out and end my humiliation.
No wonder then Air India is in the mess that it is. I have wowed never to fly Air India again. These sarkari people know that the government is there to bail them out being the national career anytime It would be more apt if they were called the national shame.
I lost a couple of hours and a few thousand rupees but I am much wiser now. Ans wise are those who can learn from the experience of others.
I don't know if anyone from Air India would even bother to read and respond as to what happens to their customers. Or it that the customer is only entitled to a smile when hes on the plane and can easlily be humiliated and penalized for jus a little slip up.
To think of it I did not travel and yet the no fare was refunded to me. The Indian Railways are far better then this.
So pople planning to fly Air India -Beware!
