I saw the movie on its third day of release, and found it strange that people did not like bachchan's changed voice.. I thought it was brilliant. It also helped the fact that I am a huge fan of his. The entire image that he has had - ''larger than life''... is so well nurtured and then projected on screen... from his stance to his dialogues to his styles to his attitude to the use of low camera angles to slick action-pieces to the little movements of his eyelids (in the climax scene with the azaan in the background - how many of u noticed it, tho it is barely audible), to his hand gestures in the cop-station (appearance scene) to show his familiarity with the cops (maybe because he has been in & out of that station sine he last burnt down the petrol pump OR that he is so big as a don that he is familiar with the cops on duty there)...

loosely based on scarface and Michael Pare's Streets of Fire (therefore the name Agneepath), the movie is a tour-de-force when it comes to using the image of the Big B. Glitches include the songs - oh how they make me cringe... and the idiotic way Mithun behaves in the climax (post the death of Big B) by firing his gun in the air to vent his air... this one scene just makes the effort ludicrous... makes u feel like you are watching a cheap Anil Sharma directed Dharmendra starrer like Elaan-e-jung or hukumat. as for the songs they need to be chopped off...

dialogues by kader khan are part of bollywood folk-lore now...

mithun is brilliant, and so is Rohini Hattangady. Neelam plays the irritating sister very well (i guess she didnt need to act too much)

Coming to the best-looking and suave villain that we have - Danny Dengzongpa... this is perhaps the only movie that actually show-cased his style and panache. He looks slick and perhaps its one of the few movies that he acted in without his moustache (khotey sikke, is the other one that I can recall)...

even the smaller crooks were played brilliantly from Bob christo to Sharad saxena to avtar gill...

At the end of the day Agneepath is the best and the perfect Amitabh Bachchan vehicle, chauffered by the late Mukul Anand.
