I won't give a list of the geographical and social statistics - that's already been done here. I'll just stick to my thoughts, in general, on Afghanistan.
..........................
This place has been there for so long and it seems I've never seen it in good times.
I feel so angry when I see how Al Qaeda and people like the Taliban have oppressed these people and treated them so cruelly. It angers me, when I look at web sites to see just what the Muslim faith really is about, then find that their tenets have been misinterpreted and twisted to make it look like a horrible religion.
I'd like to think that after this upheaval is over that the people there will have a chance to make a decent life for themselves.
But that's easy for me to say - me, living with my husband, who superintends and manages an 8 floor apartment building. We don't make a whole lot of money here, but it's enough to get by.
It takes watching the news articles about the deprivation of these people in the east, to make me appreciate what I do have here.
I just hope that we can gather strength in consciousness for these people and hope that they may share the world with everyone, as I'm sure our creator meant it to be.
