Aashiqui 2 has actually failed many

1.    Aashiqui 2 has been appreciated by many and has done good business too, but for me except for good songs and some good performances by individual actors, the movie and its plot has actually failed many. Some of the weaknesses, which I feel send a wrong message, are as under.

2.   The plot of the story is very depressing. The Hero of the movie is actually sick with disease called "Alcohol Dependence Syndrome" and needed rehabilitation treatment much more than the physical and emotional support provided by his friends, including his girlfriend. As shown in the movie, all these supports proved short lived and the Hero had to ultimately die. Some of our real life Bollywood heroes are the living example of how to overcome such problems. But the producer and director of the movie felt that allowing a person to die in such situation is better than sending him for rehabilitation treatment and make him more productive to himself and the society. What a message to young generation!

3.    Secondly, the father of the hero in the movie, who was staying in some other country, has been shown to be in continuous touch with his son on phone and knew all about his problems. But, in spite of this, he never came to meet him personally and tried to help him overcome his difficulties. If this is the concern shown by the parents towards their dear ones, then there should not be any doubt in anybody's mind why even relations like son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister  are loosing their ground rapidly in present society, leave about other relations.

4.    The message of the movie i.e. try your best to save a relationship, but if things don't workout your way, forget it and move ahead, may be practical in today's materialistic society but leaves much to be pondered when relations are considered more precious than material things, especially in Indian context. Even if you chose to move ahead, make sure that you have done your basic duty of a human being and not left somebody to die for want of curative measures.Love should help a person to live and not die.

Thanks.
