I like people who under promise and over deliver, I like it when someone gives me more than I expect and that’s exactly what happened with ‘Aao Wisk Karien’.Not many times have I felt happiness, and not many times have I felt like expressing it. Friday morning, I had taken an off so that I can finally get a long weekend, my 8 year old daughter, Anaya , dragged me out of the bed and said, she wants to watch a movie. Friday evening was the dinner with my wives parents.
So, me, my beautiful wife and my 8 year old daughter, all went to the theatre, the idea was to watch a movie, have pop corn, and all that in the afternoon, something we haven’t done for a long long time.There weren’t many options, and then I saw that ‘Aao Wish Karien’, and thought, it sounds better than most of the movies going on, and went in.15 mins down the movie.
I was happy to see, my little daughter and my not so little wife, completely engrossed in the movie, it’s a story of a 12 year old boy in love. And the girl he loves thinks he is a kid, and he wishes to grow up to win the heart of the girl he loves. And so he does, but growing up has its own sets of problems, specially over night growing up.
Plot is nice and so are performances, Aftab is absolutely fabulous, and the new girl, don’t remember her name, she was also good, Ritesh Deshmukh also comes in to give a nice cameo, and direction is also brilliant, it is definitely not speilbergish and thank god for that.We all laughed, cried and came out like one happy family, Anaya was happy being 8, and I was happy being 37 and my wife, well she wouldn’t like to disclose her age.
Overall, if you want a good weekend, go for the movie , and do take your kids along....
