Chetan Bhagat's nearly all books have been made into films, 3 idiots and Kai Po are so much more than books. One is heart warming and inspiring other is visceral and real. But 2 states comes off as contrived and bland in those comparison. I always measure a film by the inquisitiveness on my part to watch it again.
This film is a one time watch at the most. It stretches too long and by the end when the 2 protagonists meet I didn't even care. Alia is brilliant, she has shunned her role as dumb pretty girl from the CITY and is very fresh here.(not as good as highway though).
Arjun Kapoor struggles in his role though he remains OK.OK. Amrita Singh does a pretty good job. Ronit Roy is flawless, best in the movie by far! I wish his role was longer. In all I sum up as its not an enthralling watch. Its average. Watch it if u want skip if u want.
