Story:

Just finished reading 2 states, It is a story of two people of different religions falling in love and how they are different in cultures but similar in character, 2 states is nothing but a comment on religions esptargetting South Indians from a Punjabi perspective ( I think it is not a good way of putting bad humor to make an enjoyable funny read from the readers perspective). We must respect religions.... Though I found the book funny and it was enjoyable but certain passages and moments in the stories are very illogical, I mean how can every time something happens and a sudden example with a satirical humor comes as a thought to the Punjabi Munda (the narrator of the book), it was like giving a forced fun element to the book probably will go down well with readers who have just started reading books (an intelligent sign to show off), consider themselves hep and love the hinglish style and goes with the flow, I personally believe that humor has to have a certain degree without disturbing the originality of the story which the book fails on heavily. The south indian girl Ananya (love of the punjabi Krish) seems to be heavily on Sex along with the boy which may distract the new or old readers and the easily impressioned minds.

Sex is used as a tool to make the book interesting and this is what was uninteresting for me, for books need to maintain a certain decorum and since this book is affordable easy to read it can easily drift or change the perspective of sex to the young minds with frequent hormonal changes.I 200% agree with one of the reviewers RAKEVOLTAIRE who mentioned "Actually sex is the thread that holds novel together.First they start with sex , part with sex meet again in chennai with sex ..trying for sex in delhi and sex for national integration. In between askign Manju about porn , uncle looked like as if bla bla "porn collection" ... hands free cleavage, Pummy aunty cleavage ATM.Sex sells.Thank god author didnt reference "that" little help as in 3MOL dedication."Making love for country sake" - its cringe worthy",

Ananyas father is shown as a hen pecked husband in the initial pages but when Krish visits him he behaves super strict and authoriative on the contrary Ananya's mom welcomes the boy whom she hated earlier and both of them are willing to let their son study under the tutelage of Mr IIM despite knowing that their daughter loves this boy .I have read 5 point someone and one night@call centre both are pretty much on the story lines rather than forcing comedy for the vulnerable minds. A writer is intelligent and a reader is more intelligent to understand adifference, for people who love it ..need to read his other books and books by different authors and classics, for me this book is time pass but the author needs to stop advocating sex so much that it becomes more of sleaze and less of enjoyable worthy read.
