A Love born in heaven, A Revenge Born in Hell. which is so apt!
To start with 1920 maybe just like manyhollywood movie u've watched or maybe not as scary as them, still its a film made by heart. The movie highlights the Debuts of two new - comers - Rajnesh Duggal and Adah Sharma.
1920Is about two young couple - Arjun (Rajnesh duggal) And Lisa (Adah sharma), they are married against the social barriers of caste difference! Due to the hatred of such social barriers, Arjun stops believeing in God because he thinks it is because of God that He had been in so much of trouble to get his love of his life,
As Arjun is a architect he is assigned a work to break a Old Huge and Beautiful palace in Rajasthan and make a Hotel exclusively for theBritishers , Lisa and Arjun move into the Palace which has many secrets untold in it. Lisa starts experiencing wierd things happening to her, while her husband is not affected by anything in the palace.
She always feels that she can sense something but cant touch it .She cant express this to her husband because its his most ambitious project and doesnt want him to leave it because of her .!
What mystery does the palace hold? Who and Why is a spirit haunting Lisa? Will Lisa ever come to the secrets of the palace? Why is the backdrop set in the era of 1920?
For all these questions u gotta watch the movie!*Now coming to the performances -
1. Adah sharma - She the true star of the movie, she acts so brilliantly that u actually think that the possessed woman and Lisa are two different people. Her dialogue delivery is great and shelooks great! I really can’t think of any1 else doing this movie!
2. Rajnesh Duggal - He is plain ok. He acts well butnothing commendable , infact he dint have much scope too in the movie , but where as emotional scenes are concerned he is wooden."For example the scene in the temple where he is fighting with god there is absolutely no expression in his face "
3.Raj Zutshi - He's good as priest the role suited him well ! But nothing worth a mention.
- Anjoli - She's done her role really well, however I think an established actress would have suited the role better, never-the-less she's done her job pretty well!
Other aspects -
Direction - The direction by Vikram bhatt is just great however the movie get a bit dragged in the first half but then the movie makes up for it in the second half! The scary scenes shot in the movie are jus Brilliant! After Raaz this is his only HIT and I can surely say "He's back with a bang "!
Music - The music of the movie is by Adnan sami .IT has tracks from various well-known artists like - Asha bhosle, Shubha Mudgal, Kailash kher. The songs are simply amazing.
Editing – The movie is not edited that well, first half is NOT edited well.
Cineatography – The Palace in the movie is Jus amazing .The palace shown is in Yorkshire.
Background Score – The background score in the movie is jus apt! It goes with the flow of the movie!!IT gives effect to the chilling scenes.
The scenes to watch out for –

The scene where Lisa is caught eating A Dead Cat by Arjun.

The scene between the Doctor And Lisa when the doctor is about to inject her.

Overall 1920 is just a cinematic experience , It is well – crafted and the movie leaves a impact even after u leave the halls !! With great performances by Adah sharma I can jus say watch out for her ! If you loved raaz u will definitely love this ! Go for it !!
