10 Things I Hate About You - The Overview. Review on 10 Things I Hate About You - Hollywood Movie

10 Things I Hate About You, a movie based on a shakespeare classic, turned into a modern day story.

The main gist of this movie is that Cameron, the new guy, wants to go out with the hot chick of the school, Bianca. What is the inevitable problem? well her dad won't let her date. She can only date if her sister does. Her sister is portrayed as a feminest, non girly girl ,'' I hate guys'' kind of girl. This is actually related to Joey the model which we find out later in the movie. So Cameron and friend convince Joey (Who also wants to date Bianca) to hire Patrick, the school grunge dude who everyone is scared of and has some interesting rumours surrounding him, to go out with Bianca's sister Kat. Wow this is getting complicated. Furthermore the plan works and Bianca gets to go the party. At the party she hooks up with Joey, but gets sick of his posing and ditches him ultimately for Cameron. Fast forward 30 minuets and Patrick ends up falling for Kat, but she of course finds out. Long story short he buys her a guitar, they get back ''together'' and everyone lives happily ever after - bar their dad.

This movie seems to have this invisible cord that draws me into it every time. The story is extremely predictable, as a lot are, but it is just so good. The characters and the quirky storylines that are added into the movie are what attracts it to me. One of these examples is Cameron's friend riding his ''motorbike'' (really a scooter) off this huge hill face. These little moments are what makes the story funny and interesting to me as apposed to the general storyline. Also in this movie there are some really suburb camera shots, my favourite being one of Kat looking at Bianca out the window. The use of music throughout the movie is subtle but effective when used. Combined these things are what makes 10 things I hate about you a great movie for me.

I have watched it over and over and am yet to be sick of it.

This movie would appeal to people who like the american teen kind of movies and let's face it most people watch them (and enjoy it).
