@ ajay11111: As far as my knowledge goes, Kaff is the best brand but Cata is not a bad brand either. It is very old in India & is a very good brand, but before you buy any brand you need to check that if U have their service centre in your city or not. & usually, Chimneys demand very less mainatinan...ce if used properly, so don't worry & go ahead with your favourite brand (just check the service centre availability in your city).Read More

@ polini: For your Hob a 60cm chimney with a good suction power above 750 M3/h would be fine, but if possible, go for a 90cm chimney with a suction power of 600m3/h to 750 m3/h as it will cover your hob completely, hence providing a better feedback. I have no idea about prestige chimneys. Nowadays, ...all the brands have come up with their own chimneys, but I would still prefer the older players which still are the best in the market. Still. check their service availability in your area before you buy.Read More

@ aravind248: Bro, I never said Kaff is an Italian Brand but I have written that its mostly Italian made as was claimed by them at the time when this review was written & was also written on the box. As far as the Brand is concerened i never did research on the Brand, my research was limited to thei...r product range, pricing, Quality & after sales service network. :)Read More

@ biniparekh: Kaff as a brand is anytime better than Kutchina which is relatively a new brand. & secondly whatever they say all the chimneys work well its only the after sales service which matters & in this case, as per my opinion, Kaff wins the race by a huge margin.. :)

@ dreams1232: In my view aluminium filter is better than baffle filter because it can be easily cleaned & easier to maintain. Secondly, as per my experience the after sales service of Kaff is better than Faber but do check it before you buy the machine for urself. :)

@ ssweetie81: Ms. kappor, I Cannot say much about auto clean chimneys as the manufacturer's haven't explained anthing about this technology on their website but as far as I have understood, These chimneys might have some sort of storage place where they'll store all the oil & dirt which comes from y...our cooktop while cooking & will need very less cleaning effort as compared to normal chineys. So, Please don't get into technicalities of these, if u like any product just go ahead & check their service centres & after sales service in your area & if its good then go ahead & buy it.Read More

@ pavanvishal: Sorry for my late reply. If there are 2 bends then any chimney of less than 650 M3/h will work well but I think Chennai is a humid place I would rather sugget you to go for a chimney with the suction power between 650 to 750 M3/h... Brand is on you to decide. I don't favour nay brand ...but will suggest you to look for after sale service & service centres before buying any brand.Read More

@ anand66: Yes they'll work good but better if you could get a chimney of around 1250 - 1500 m3/h because that will work in the best way... your kitchen size is fine but the duct distance & bends are higher so I would suggest you find a chimney between 1250 - 1500 M3/h... & remember, do check the se...rvice centre availability & service before buying....Best of Luck...Read More

@ Oceanoflove: Kaff Opec60 is a nice choice... glass isn't that difficult to maintain because its toughened glass.. regular cleaning is all you need... don't know much about the price but i've heard that in WB you get things for a higher price.. you can try & bargain the price as much as you can & i...f possible you can get it from another city too.. but my suggestion is that buy it from your city because you can catch the dealer anytime for any issues... i don't know much about kaff's service centres in Kolkata but I'm sure that it should have ASC's there as its a metro city... From my point of view kaff's ervice is good in metro cities... but please confirm the ASC details before buying the product...Read More

@shekar_1981: Hey Shekar, I would suggest you to take a chimney of the same size as your hob. The smaller one would work but it will leave something to be desired as it will not be able to cover the complete hob... regards Rajeev

@aryasubhash: Mr. Arya, I would suggest you go for a chimney with 400 m3/h - 500 m3/h. I am sure there must be some space for the duct to go out because that is very much necessary. If there are 2 bends then upto 650 m3/h chimney will work & if there are three bends then it needs a chimney of more t...han 750 m3/h to work properly. if in case the window is open & has nothing behind it then please call a technician home & ask him the right way out...Read More

@sunsparx: Distance also matters but how big can a kitchen be ;-p ... tell me ur kitchen size & Type (Open or Closed) & bends.... I'll let u know about the right suction for ur kitchen.....

@sunsparx: yes the bends do matter but 1 to 2 bends are normal in indian kitchens... A 500 m3/h chimney will work well with 1 bend & average with second.... Anything above 750 m3/h will work well with 2 bends.... no idea about the Filterless technology.... Will check with my friends & then comment o...n it... Anyways the more technologically advanced product (as per claims) u buy, the more maintainance it will ask you for & spares will always cost almost 50% more than the conventional product's spares... Hope this makes life easier for u... :)Read More

@bookworm77 : Yes u r absolutely correct... normal burners are very good for indian cooking compared to nice looking hob burners... They also consume less LPG as compared to hobs... go ahead & buy yourself a nice looking cooktop with indian burners... :)

@akkapoor1993: Mr. Kapoor, Firstly thanks for rating my review & commenting on it. However, I don't understand what mede my review somewhat useful for u. Is there any improvement I can make to it. Secondly, As per market conditions now, Faber is still the largest selling brand followed by Glen & Kaf...f. Although Glen has overtaken all the brands but still struggling to overtake Faber however as per my experience I still feel that Glen & Kaff are far better than Faber in terms of Customer Service. Product quality is at par in all these brands as mentioned above. But I still don't understand why my review is somewhat useful.Read More

@Hunting001 & amit81 : The only thing to cosider here is After Sales Service Experience. I never recommend a Faber jsut because of its bad customer service which i experienced during my tenure with the industry. Faber's Chimneys are of very good quality same as Kaff, Glen or Elica but what I saw dur...ing my tenure with the appliances industry was that my customers were not happy with Faber's after sales service. Secondly, My suggestion is that you go for a traditional mesh filter instead of a baffle filter coz its really easy to clean & maintain (thats my personal opinion). Now the only thing you need to look at is the service centre availability in your area for all the brands. You can also consider Glen as their customer service is better than that of Faber. Market trends have changed a lot & there are lots of brands in the market but still I would always suggest you to buy a tried & tested brand. From the After Sales Service point of view, I would like to tell you that no company (I really mean that) can provide excellent customer service. We always put ourselves at priority than others whereas company's always provide services according to their guidelines. The usual service or response time is 48 - 72 working hours for all the companies. So don't worry & take your decision. Summary: I suggest you to look for the service centers of the brand in your city before you buy any of them. Buy a known brand name instead of less known ones. Also take suggestions from friends & family members who own a chimney about the after sales service. Hope this helps make things easier for you.Read More
