Hi Dude, Punit Here! I am a proud owner of a Uni 10 months and done 11,200+ kms. Its still the same, a smooth and powerful machine. Yes, it does vibrate a bit above 60-70Kmph, any 150cc bike will. But not anything to worry about. u will get used to it soon. just ignore it. About fuel, Ev...en I am a Mumbai resident and my dealer (probabaly urs and mine is same) has also told me not 2 use Speed or Power still I had used all brands one after the other and found that it does give problems. It makes cold starting difficult and increases or rather changes ur bikes sound. DONT use these brands at all. Use H.P. petrol for best performance. Avoid filling up from Kandivali pump near Tata SSL. Clean ur fuel strainer regularly. And about skidding, any heavy bike will skid on water and sand. Be careful when u ride. Remember skidding chances are more when either tyres are wet and road is dry or road is wet and tyres are dry. If both are dry or both are wet, its easier to avoid skidding. Do not brake urently or pick up full throttle in any kind of wet condtions. However, our uni has a great balance that makes handling much easy and hence will u will not fall easily as on a Pulsar. Any other queries. Feel free to mail me. Enjoy biking. Punit.Read More

Indeed a great review dude. Agree with u on all points. However, the tyre pressure for Uni is 24-25 in fornt and 37-39 in Rear tyre to give u max comfort and stability. Try it ur self to find out. Nice to know that more and more people are loving the Uni. I have a Uni about 10 Months old and h...as done 11,000Kms. But its still the same great pick up and stability. Even I am still thinking to find its CONS. Absolutely No Problem Bike. And Yes, Anand comments on this review as 'DIkhave pe mat jao apni akal lagao'. and then speaks of something that attracts the most in Pulsar. I think he is confused as he contradicts his own statement!! Just wants to prove Pulsars superiority as probably he owns one. Theres absolutely no need to think of any Company policy if they can offer u an amazing machine like Uni. Tank Stickering??? LOL... And about those Mono Shox one needs to ride a Uni for long to understand its comfort and stability. I think a bike without a good engine, controls and ergonomics will also do the needful for Anand. Only thing it should have is, its name on the tank and not the back and great looks for DIKHAVA. Concerned more about the ones who look at u rather than ur self while riding huh!!! LOL.... Enjoy Biking, Punit.Read More

Hi Uday, Firstly I would like to tell u that I have a Uni about 10 Months old. It has run about 9,500 Kms till date and I did not experience any single problem with its plastic fixtures. Some people do have problems with its FIT but the FINISH is awsome. It has the best paint quality in class. Ho...wever, If u have a problem with it pressurise ur dealer to do it once and for all. Believe me, it can be done. Now about ur suspension. Many people do not read the Owners manual and hence are unaware that the rear shox is a three stage adjustable one. Initially it is set on soft. Ask ur dealer to adjust it to medium or hard as per ur requirement. About the pillion! I have always felt that bikes are ment for riders only. Pillions are always an additional burden. However the UNI has the most comfortable rider and pillion position as compared to any other Indian bike. Once u adjust ur shox into a stiffer position even this problem can be rectified. If u carry a person of weight more than that of yours then ur handling and comfort will definately be effected be it any bike on earth. Congrats on ur decision to buy the Uni. Enjoy Riding!! Apart from agreeing to what the guys above say, I am more in a confusion as to did u like the bike or u didnt. And if u still feel whatever u have written is correct then u are a sure PESSIMIST. Good LUCK and think about it. Punit.

Hi Guru, Anand is right. The Uni even after being 139Kg Kerb Wt. becomes a feather when u start riding. Handling is exceptionally good. However the sugession for u is to kick start ur bike in the morning (i.e. Cold Starting) as this will help ur battery serve u longer. Excellent decision to... buy the Uni. Enjoy Riding, Punit.Read More

Apart from what the above two say I also would like to correct you saying that Uni is 139 Kg Kerb Wt. and this is well above 100Kg. Also its mono shox make it real good with handling rather than the comfort. Afcourse uni is comfortable but its more due to its ergonomics, but mono shox make it the bi...ke with max handling and conering abilities as compared to its rivals of the same segment. Hi Amit. I should say that even though short its indeed a good review. I think u are probably the only one person I have read till date who adds the looks of Unicorn in its Pros and not Cons. Actually even I feel that Unicorn looks greats. Though not very muscular like its close competitor bu...t it has a decent look and beautiful ergonomics. What I disagree with u is that I really dont think a Uni has a 1 Litre unusable reserve. Because out of 1.3 L reserve I have once used almost 1 Litre and the bike still didnt feel short of Fuel. Now that u have written so, i'll still check it out. Anyways, Enjoy Biking. Regards, Punit.Read More

hi rahul, Punit here. Even I am a proud owner of a Unicorn. Firstly I would like to correct u a bit. Unicorn is 13.3 Bhp and not 13.1 as you mentioned. Now about your vibration problem. Check it up with ur dealer and force him to get it rectified. Even I had minor problems with front cowl a...nd bearing shakes but my dealer has now set it right. I can ride on Mumbai roads without a sound, so u can guess that its fairly good. Also dont compare it with a Pulsar as a Pulsar ONLY has better looks as compared 2 a Uni. Its full throttle pick up is less than that of a Uni (Personally Tested) and makes a real bad sound when picked up full throttle. A Uni has great refinement and is the best 150cc as on date. There as also some more points where Uni proves to be much superior such as handling, cornering abilities, road grip, lighting etc........ So, Enjoy Biking. U have a Master Piece in ur hand. Give it full deserved respect and u will love it. And Yes, Change the Horn if u dont like it. I got it replaced with a set of 2 horns for Rs. 150/- odd and are working pretty well. Hi there, Even I have a Unicorn. Colour Candy Tathian Blue. Done 6707Kms as on date. No trips out of Mumbai as yet. Just 4 months old. Nice to know that u have done many trips far off and no major pooblems as yet. Also, mileage best of 67 is great. My best is 58Kmpl and worst is 44Kmpl. U know... Mumbai roads??!!! Now about ur tail piece problem. If u mean the tail lamp them visit ur dealer and ask him to put a packing to the tail lamp to stop its vibration and avoid further damage. My dealer did that for me right in the first service and since then the tail is rattle free. Try it and let me know. Enjoy Biking. Regards, PunitRead More

Hi Ajay, Good work there by u in terms of review and selection of bike. Really a great choice of bike by u, a decision u will never repent for. About the gear shift pattern, one up four down is an internatinal and tried tested fashion of gear shifts. A little practise will make u very comforta...ble with it in traffic. However if u find dead neutrals when shifting 1-2 or 2-1 then contact ur dealer and get it set for good. But if its ur personal dislike, then no comments and no solution to it. Enjoy Biking!! Thanks & Regards, Punit P. SumbreRead More

Hi Sunir, Sorry 2 say ur review title and matter contradict each other. U say in ur title its an amazing bike however, u mentioned more of the problems that occured in ur bike. Anyways, get ur bike checked by an authorised dealer for ur problems. They are very minor problems and can be solved ...in no time. The UNICORN has no major problems whatsoever and its every part is greatly reliable though costly. U always have to pay more for better Quality as a Premium. Theres much more to be added in Pros other than looks and ur cons are ur own bike's problems and not general ones. Try being general in ur statements for better review writing. And, the bike is not heavy!! Its of the normal weight of a 150cc bike +or- 10Kgs. And it has the best handling in its class. Also a mileage of 55+ is easy unless u always try to get the hell out of the engine. So get it checked also. Enjoy Riding!! Thanks & Regards, Punit.Read More

Hi Gourish, Good decision 2 buy a Unicorn. I personally feel Blue looks better than red. Anyways, now about starting. Kick start ur bike in the morning or after a long no use time to keep ur battery intact for long. No need 2 use the choke. After 1st service keep ur bike idling between 1k to 1....5k for better milage and smoothness. Its OK if it switches off when u leave the accelerator for first 5-10 minutes after startup. And for cleaning, get ur bike pressure washed once or twice in a month during rainy season. Ask the person to wash properly the rear shocks and where ever u want. Ask for pressure wash and not diesel wash as frequent diesel washes can fade ur bikes colour. Enjoy Biking, PunitRead More

Hi Adi, Thanks for the comment. Now, about ur Qs. I have mentioned in my review also that it depends on what u like. I just love th way a Unicorn zooms on road without noise u might like it the other way round. I have used my uncles bullet and loved its beats at an extremely smooth tuning but ...many people buy a bullet for its rugged firing, I have even seen people fitting a front fork oil seal into the silencer for more noise but I dont like it that way. However, I have mentioned many plus points of a Unicorn in my review and if u want a real long term outperformer, u can neglect the firing easily. I repeat, its personal choice!!! Now, about Unicorn's feel. It feels real comfortable on the Unicorn be it alone or with pillion. Its suspension works even better with that extra load and its control is also quite good. My bike was brand new during rainy season and hence I had absolutely no issues on wet road. Tilting the bike on turns at a speed of 60 Kmph didnt feel like a stunt. but I will have to wait and watch upto the next rainy season to evaluate the effect of wear and tear. Enjoy biking. Thanks for taking the pain to write a comment to my review. Yes, I am sure Unicorn has a mag wheel dealer option in Mumbai. Remember, its a dealer option not a company option.
