WASTE OF TIME.... come on ppl lets move over to other important topics like reviewing his out-of-the-world classic releases like 'Warriors of Heaven & Earth' and other upcoming classics instead of debating whether he is really worth the acclaim ! Come on guys, can you imagine any other indian MD... composing music for a Chinese movie or for Vanessa Mae or MJ or 'The Lord of the Rings' ? Name one and I will stop listening to any kind of music !! You know what this means, Mr. Rajahindustani? It means that a music composer shud show his excellence in Music and only music... have u ever tried karaoke on any indian songs? tell me honestly.. which MD songs sound best on karaoke? ARR's job is to compose music ...... not to try to fit lyrics into it ..... that is not his job.... try fitting some lyrics into Beethoven's symphony and u will know what I am talking about..... ARR is not to be blamed if some movie producer dubs his Tamil songs to Hindi and vice versa and butchers the music....... The songs that you say are badly lyricised are the songs that have been dubbed from Tamil.... Humma Humma from ur own example..... and believe me, this song has superb lyrics in Tamil..... I can vouch for it ! What is ARR to do if some guy fits an incompatible lyric into his song? Imagine dubbing RD burman's or any other classic MD's songs into Tamil or to English............ Do u think it will sound great? Of course the music will be great as it is RDB class....... but it will certainly have bad lyrics.... His chinese movie composition blew me away. He has maintained his standard but at the same time managed to sound as authetically Chinese as possible. And that, Mr. Rajahindustani, is what a genius is made of....... There r so many ARR tamil songs that are pratically classicals. 'Nila Kaaigiradhu' from 'Indira' is easily one of them. I am sure u wudn't have had the chance to listen to it. This song, if dubbed in any other language would be a badly lyricised song.Read More
