Its a fashion nowadays to inject an overdose of double entandre among VJs. But I still find RJ Nitin aka Jonarthan Brady as the smartest one...don't know if he is still with Red FM or has moved on. A rival station of Red, with a obnoxious 'Soch kabhi bhia aa sakti hai' notoriety, in my opinion, is... the worst of the lot.Read More

"Shahryar Was The Best Ghazal Poet": Shabana Azmi

May 26, 2012 09:18 PM

Corrective action still pending on tube While listening to Shabana Azmi's rendition of 'Anjuman' songs, I noted the concern with which you had pointed tout that teh spellings of your legendary father's name were not correctly mentioned on the site. I was disgusted to note that the corrective ac...tion is still not in place and a vital 'h' in his name has still not been incorporated. You may be surprised to know that though the movie 'Anjuman' was never released, I happen to be among those rare few who had the good fortune of viewing it during a film festival at Chandigarh in 1987! That is why the quest for the songs of Anjuman lead me to you tube.Read More

My condolensces As a fan of your legendary father, I am indeed saddened to know of his demise. I am sure he would always live on with his body of work. May his soul rest in peace.

What Was Waheeda Rahman's Reaction To Guru Dutt's Suicide?

May 26, 2012 09:10 PM

Good one! I remember Asha Bhonsle stating in an interview that her rendition of 'Bhanwara bada naadan' was simply based on the manner in which Guru Dutt narrated the song to her!

Grievances should be voiced at appropriate places, not under the category Reviews. I came here in quest of a review, not a complaint.

Why condemn people who have had a bad experience? Do you think that simply because you had a nice experience no one under the sun would get a bad experience from the same merchandizer? Congrats anyway for having received a nice discount!

Customer complaints and reviews ought to be placed differently. I came here wanting to know your opinion on a product, but find a grievance in the garb of a review.

I was toying between a premium Hitachi and a budget Voltas. Now I will settle for the latter.

I too have had a 'not so great' experience with MTR products. The 'upma' variant of MTR was completely hopeless.

A fact less known about Dev Anand is that for the sequel to Jewel Thief titled 'Return of Jewel Thief', he managed to fit himself into the same trousers that he had worn in the original Jewel Thief (featured in the song aasmaan ke neeche)!

Post Heera Panna, music score of 'Des pardes' and 'Lootmaar' also did well. Remember ''aap kahen aur hum na aayein'', 'nazar lage na saathiyo' and 'Nazraana, bheja kisi ne pyaar ka' (all from Des Pardes; composer Rajesh Roshan) or 'Jab Chhaye mera jadoo' from Lootmaar. In fact 'Sau Crore' and Pyaar ...ka taraana' also had melodoius numbers (I think Raamlaxman composed them); thorugh they did not find commercial success.Read More

A small correction: The lyrics go '' Aanchal mein kya ji, RUPEHLA baadal'',; not 'woh pehla baadal'!

Indeed a very apt salute to the king of romance. Dev Anand was full of life and passed away working. He would always live on through his body of work, especially film music, which you have comprehensively covered in your review.

'Snake influence' in Bigg Boss 5

Oct 13, 2011 03:05 PM General 566 Views

Snake influence in Bigg Boss 5 is clearly evident. I don't know if it has been noticed before, but I find it interesting that of the 13 contestants in the house of Bigg Boss 5, at least three are having a clear ‘snake’ influence. Gulabo is actulally Gulabo ‘Sapera’ (Sapera means snake-charmer) , ...Read more

Fine story, finer analogy Indeed the story narrated to you by your sister (and narrated to us by our sister!) is a fine one.But it is the analogy that you develop here regarding the scourge of corruption is what is very striking and very apt. BTW, the manner in which the kleptomaniac tailor sen...ds across the dress material reminds me of the movie 'Jewel Thief': Dev Anand uses a similar tactic to let his policeman father know about his plan to nab the culprit.Read More

The review was posted via mouthpad. Apparently the last portion has gotton omitted. Few final tips are as under: 1. Ask for mineral water instead of normal water 2. In case you are not driving yourself, avail of the services of a masseur and enjoy a nice nap during the remaining journey. 3. Do...n’t miss the aalu pyaaz ka parantha 4. Ask for masala tea instead of normal tea 5. Insist that the butter be served in a separate bowl and not on top of the parantha Happy eating! Read More
