Hi Raghavendra - no, they havent done anything on the ground clearance which incidentally is lower than Civic too! so that remains a concern

Hi All - given below is the balance part of my review which is unfortunately not getting displayed above: ...very good road with much less traffic. In bad city roads and with traffic, this can easily go down to 10 (my guess). But the fuel economy depends a lot on how you drive the car. Also I m...ust say here that in all probability you will get higher fuel economy in city conditions with the automatic than the manual because whilst automatic transmission keeps changing gears all the time to remain in the “right” gear, in manual our tendency is not to change gears until it is really essential – the tendency is to remain in lower gears for a long time which brings down the fuel efficiency. Concluding thoughts This is the first time ever I have used an Automatic Transmission car. Believe me, I now wonder why I never bought one before. If you are the one (like me) who hates to keep drivers and likes to drive by himself but at the same time does not want the hassles of shifting gears (thats a terrible thing on Indian city roads), the only way to go is Automatic. Also, I can tell you that automatic makes the drive almost fatigue-free on the highways. Gone are the days when my left leg would keep paining after long drives. I did about 1000 km in this car in 3 days and without any hint of pain or discomfort, whatsoever. My verdict between automatic and manual is – Automatic – Hands Down! Go for it! Read More

Hi - I have done 2 servicings till date and the maintenance is very reasonable till now. I am not sure if the maintenance will be high going forward but am told that it is at par with petrol. I have bought 2 cars from Chowgules and the Swift from Millennium Mobility - and am happy with both of th...em. Chowgule's workshop is at Katraj and Millennium's is at Dapodi - so choose the dealer whose workshop is convenient to you. PushkarRead More

Hi Yogesh, There is no such need that you need to drive the diesel care for some minimum distance per day. The distance is relevant only to choose between Petrol and Diesel. This is because the price difference between Petrol and Diesel car is about Rs 80,000 - which means that you need to sp...end 80,000 more if you buy a diesel swift instead of a petrol swift. Now we know that the price of petrol is about Rs 15 per litre more than diesel. So the question is how soon can you recover this additional cost that you are paying. I had done my own calculation on this and I realised that if one does about 2,000 km per month reglarly it makes sense to go for a diesel because the additional cost of Rs 80,000 will be recovered in about 2 years time. However, if you are only doing say 1000 km per month you will need about 5 years to recover that difference and hence it may make more sense to buy the petrol car instead. Thats all about it. Hence I would recommend tha you do this calculation and see for yourself how soon can you recover the additional cost. for the sake of calculation take the petrol car's economy as 12 kmpl and take the diesel car's economy s 18 kmpl and then do the comparison. Trust the above helps clear your dobuts. I had a 6 week waiting period in Pune - I do not know what is the period now. As for additional information - I would say the petrol swift is an equally good car and it is also a driver's delight as the diesel is. However the ride quality will be better in diesel than the petrol. I am very happy with the car as I really love to drive and this is completely a driver's car! Go for any of the models based on your own calculations! All the best! Read More
