Pathetic Idea. Its the most unprofessional company I have came across. I ported from vodafone 3 months back at Tapasvi traders, a idea store in Hadapsar, Pune. They did all the spelling mistakes in noting down my address. I wish I had filled up myself, but they did not ask me as they have to jus...Read more

what is your current rate of interest.. Right now for new customers its 10.5%. I'm taking a home loan and got it pre-approved from SBI, but worried that old customer's need to pay more interest rate.. I'm paying 12% for my current home loan from hsbc bank whereas for new customers hsbc charges 10.5...%. Is this thing fine with your SBI home loan?Read More

Following up with an update. I received the documents from ICICI bank on 1st Dec. exactly after 1 month. But well there were some issues. 1. They sent my documents to Mumbai, whereas I took the loan from Pune and my property is in Pune. Thank goodness I followed up around 20th Nov. and ask them... to deliver it in Pune. 2. I asked for final Income tax certificate. They sent it through courier, but on a wrong address. They sent it to the place where i used to live when I took the loan. Even after re-requesting they sent it to the earlier address again. Whereas when I cross-checked with the customer care he told me my current address. And here is how I figured out, that its the problem with their system (IT). They keep different addresses for different account, and cant guarantee it would reflect when u update your address with customer care. And I saw the same old address in my final settlement letter, and thats the reason i never received any of the letter from the Bank. Now, is this my mistake? I'm still waiting for the final income tax letter which i've asked to send it to my office address.. Lets hope so, I'll get it.. Thanks ICICI.Read More

Well, if you are abroad, then getting loan or transferring to Nationalised bank is next to impossible, my friend tried that. Even he tried with HDFC which took more than 2 months to process and finally left empty handed. These banks ask you to open NRI accounts etc, but still no guarantee to get ...the loan processed. Finally he settled with ICICI, which didnt even ask him to open NRI account etc and got the loan within 15-20 days (He was body shopped from here and still an employee of Indian Company). Btw I had two loans with ICICI, home loan & top up with 13.25 and 15.25 interest rate resp. and I transfered it at 12.5.Read More

Yeah Rajesh, I do agree with you to go for Public Sector Banks. But there are certain things you have to consider. 1. Babu Raj. Its not easy to get loan from them. I asked SBI. the customer care said that they will give only 80 % of the amount and that too only the main loan, and wont cons...ider the top-up loan. She even didnt knew Balance Transfer thing. I asked Bank Of Maharashtra: Its a good bank, very kind and polite manager. Same thing there, they wont take over the Top-up loan amount. And I had to visit the branch frequently. I asked HDFC: Even they said first that they wont take the Top-Up amount. And later when I went throught some other Executive, they agreed to have a look into it. By that time I went to hsbc processing so didnt look back there. I heard its a good bank for home loan. Good thing I found there is they will encash the processing amount cheque only after the loan gets processed, else they wont. 2. Services. Compare ICICI service to any other bank. You will find ICICI service very good and prompt. I visited the branch only once that too for collecting the cheque amount. Same thing with HSBC. uptil now I never visited the branch. Even the lawyer came to me to handover the amount. Everything is available online or phone banking in private banks. I changed the ICICI EMI on phone. Not even required to fill any form or visit anyone. Tax Certificate is just a phone call away. wrt this SBI is good but less knowledgeable persons over there. And I dont mind paying a little extra for these services. And well the full time taken to process for shifting is around 15 days. previous 15 days I took to take the decision. I'm yet to collect the documents from ICICI. I transfered just last week. I will update this when i collect the documents. Nitin.Read More

Well, there is no runaway from the penalty. You have to pay it. I transfered my home loan to hsbc and they took over the penalty as well. I’m not carrying the details right now. but here are some approximate amounts: Loan Taken (ICICI): Rs. 10,58,000 After 2 years Outstanding was (ICICI) : Rs.... 10,44,000 Penalty for repayment (ICICI) : Rs. 24,000 Interest for the month (ICICI) : Rs. 8,500 (This depends on what date you are making the payment. If you pay just after the EMI date it would be less, I made it 20 days late, and this much was the interest. It is always better to ask for some % more to the bank to whom you want to transfer to save your cash for paying this interest.). Service Charges (HSBC): Rs. 7000. You can see, my outstanding with ICICI was Rs. 10,44,000 But after transfering to HSBC it became Rs. 10,76,000 and xtra 7000 in cash for the loan procedure to hsbc. But I'm still happy to leave ICICI. One more detail i would like to share. It took me 2 years to reduce my principal by Rs. 14,000 in ICICI. Where as it will take 2 months to reduces Rs. 14,000 in HSBC. (This was because of the date delay i.e. 20 days for the repayment and 15 days interest only calculated in hsbc for the first month).
