Well, Lumanata, you are right. The writer has misunderstood most of the lyrics, barring Smells and maybe 'Come as you are'. aenigma, I like the fact that you love Nirvana as much as you do, but I am afraid that you've got it all wrong with your interpretations. 'lithium' is a case in point. It is bi...tterly sarcastic (I am so horny, but thats okay my will is good, I am so lonely, but thats okay i will shoot my head) and is, I believe, lyrics inspired by Kurt's teenage years. During this time, he was basically the so-called 'queer' in school, and Kurt once said that he was voted as 'The Person Most Likely To Shoot His Classmates' because of his inability to get along with the 'cool bunch'. No offense man.Read More

Somebody ought to ask Ron Howad (A beautiful Mind) to see this movie, and tell him, 'this is how you make an honest bio pic, you retard!!' Didn't mean to vent. Sorry. Raging Bull is as good as films could get. Loved the film, loved the review. Thanks for the quotes, buddy.

Pithamagan was good, but unlike Sethu this movie had too many flaws. For instance, just after Suirya is cremated, Vikram's charachter hangs around the body for sometime, before suddenly realsing who the killer is. He then becomes a mad man (what do u call a mad man who becomes madder?) and is on the... look out for blood. Just like that. No explanations. Nothing. BTW, what is this facination Bala has for retarded people? Read More

agree with you mate. I worship Kubrick, but as much as I love this movie, I try to avoid watching it. It is just increadibly graphic. Gives me a headache at the end everytime.

I totally agree with you that boys was a load of crap. It really didn't have any of the elements that made Shankar a director, whose movies you are always keen on watching. Just take Indian for an example. It is so full of flaws, but it does not mean that it is highly enjoyable simply because there ...were was the father-son conflict, and the great work by Kamal. What did Boys have? A bunch of kids who I doubt know the meaning of acting, let alone act. The script was directionless, or maybe directed towards the teen crowd with an assumption that the audience is stupid. Directon is mediocre. Shankar has to learn that camera tricks and eye candy will only work for five minutes. U have to keep the audiences attention for over 2 hours. Finally the music. I always found that you can judge a movie by the quality of the songs and the passion of the music director. Shankar once again has the services of A R Rahuman. Listen to these songs and please, honestly, please tell me if you think that Rahuman was the least bit interested in this movie? I don't think so. Listen to his work on the up coming Mani Ratnam film: It's like he has got a new lease in life. In the movie, the band 'BOYS' wins several awards at a MTV music awards, including 'BEST LYRICS'........hahahaha that is the funniest thing i ever heard.Read More

i agree with you foolosophical....A R Rahuman and Mani Ratnam teaming up has brought some of the best songs ever...I am just gonna pass my thoughts on Yuva's tamil counterpart, Ayutha Ezuthu': I download two tracks and after listening to them the first thoughthat wen through ma head was 'Rahuman is ...back'.........after the music for the movie 'BOYS', I really was loosing hope on ol AR, but he has delievered yet again....my favorite song from the tamil version is Nejam Ellam which is a great concept for a song. Anyways, judging by your review the hindi album is also top class. Kepping writing, TheenaRead More

Hey foolosophical......thanks. 'The man who sold the world' is actually a cover of a david bowie original. Regardless of that, it is still an awesome song with wonderful lyrics. A Greatest SONGS collection of Nirvana was released a couple of years back with the addition of a previously unreleased so...ng called 'You know you are right' - an absoloutley simple yet powerful song recorded three months before he died...if anything it proves that Cobain was in great creative touch during the time leadin up to the suicide. I would recommend that you start off with the band's second album 'Nevermind'. It is not as loud as thier first one, but more melodic and has some great tracks that you can sing along to. eg: Lithium: I am so happy/Cause today I found my friends/I am so ugly/But thats okay cause so are you/We broke our mirrors/Sunday Morning: it's every day for all I care/And I am not scared/In a daze cause I found God......... But if you really want Nirvana, and Cobain at his very best, thier third album 'Inutero' should be listned to........the sheer quality of the songs in this album are mind blowing.....check out the lyrics for the songs if you can and/or download some of the songs. Start off with 'Dumb'. You wont regret it.Read More
