I've been using Windows Vista for the last 3 years or so, and I've never had any major problems with it except for occasional adventures with user permissions because I have a reasonably powerful system(2GB RAM, Radeon Graphics, Core 2 Duo). But the slight sluggishness of performance with some a...Read more

Microsoft gaming console it pretty nice - especially as a media extender. But their service policy is as ham handed as any manufacturer I have come across. Actually, it probably worse than most. My brother has a 360 Elite that he got when he was living in the UAE. Now that he's back the power supply... has conked off twice. Understandably we didnt expect an in-warranty replacement, but MS refuses to sell us a replacement power supply at all. Now I understand that they need to protect against piracy that is rampant - but whats the point of a no exceptions method that deprives legitimate users of the replacement part. Just thick headed is all. Guess the grey market is the only place that a replacement can be had here.Read More

Well, what I think is great about Firefox 3, is that it seems to run a lot lighter than the previous version. I'd just thought of shifting to Safari which was running lighter, but am now committed to Firefox again :-) The other thing I love is the addon feature because I dont need to install as many... applications as before and update them.Read More

While I agree about the views on TOI I don't really think that 'pimping' is the issue here. Fact is, that as long as we're willing to buy something, there will be someone to sell it to us. I think that we carry a hangover of the pre-liberalization era and expect institutions to serve a higher social... cause. In case we haven't been noticing the institutions are now private businesses. So why blame them for producing a product that we are begging to buy. The state of our media today is entirely our fault - basically we haven't yet learnt how to be responsible consumers. Perhaps it will take a few more years.Read More

I'm not really sure that your experience can be repeated. I remember the first time that I went to Quarterdeck (in 2002) and I was blown away too. Unfortunately after going there a couple of times you realize that the food and the service are nowhere near up to the mark. Its just the incredible loca...tion that blows you away. My advice would be to drop in for a drink and go eat somewhere else :-)Read More
