The car has now touched 25,000 kms.No major issues faced except for central lock not working once as the remote battery was down.

I am a safari owner.Looking at your requirements one by one 1) handling: Scorpio is an easy handler in city.But safari is a better handler at high speeds.Innova beats both these vehicles in the handling department. 2) Stability at high speed:Scorpio is unstable at higher speeds.Safari is reasonabl...y stable.Have taken it to speeds of 150 plus.But at those speeds straight line stability is good.But braking at those speeds needs practice.Body roll is minimal.But even here an innova beats both the cars. 3) Maintenance A new safari comes with 2 years warranty + 2 years extended warranty.Apart from consumables like clutch pads,brake pads etc most stuff is covered in warranty.Also tata provides A.M.C.If you buy an AMC for a specific period or kilometers even engine oil,air filters,fuel filter etc or for that matter any consumable except a few things are covered.Like that you can manage to spend peanuts to maintain the car provided you take extended warranty and A.M.C.Even otherwise Safari spares are not exorbitantly priced.Also service is only once in 15000 kilometers. and ...apart from that i am also told that Scorpio is unsafe as it gets rolled over from road at high speed and it is also less safe than safari.....Is it true...? Yes this is true and have personally witnessed one such accident on inner ring road bangalore.Scorpios are notorious for toppling.But the new mHawk feels more composed.But still not upto the mark. 4)Buy a safari if you really love it.If you want supreme comfort on all kinds of terrain nothing to beat a safari this side of 20 lakhs(Comfort alone).Also safari stands out in the crowd of puny little cars.The driving position,road presence and looks are one of the best in the segment.Now you may ask whether there are issues.There are small niggling problems like rattling of window glass on bad roads,bad plastic quality etc.But these are hardly show stopper issues.So listen to your heart and reclaim your life.Read More

Manujarch, The Safari is a rear wheel drive car.All rear wheel drive cars oversteer.This is usually perceived as loss of traction by front wheel drivers.In a rear wheel drive car(Most S.U.Vs ,muscle cars, sports cars) when you take a turn the rear tends to slip out causing a sharper turn.This charac...teristic should be known and the driver should adapt his driving to the car.I would say try the same with a contessa(Rear wheel drive), you will find similar result though slightly better.Any car requires getting used to it.Especially cars with high ground clearance.They should be handled more carefully compared to sedans.If you drive it like a sedan an S.U.V will misbehave.Read More

Your car seems to be a lemon, because i know atleast 4 safari 2.2 owners personally.Nobody has any major issues like you mentioned.But Best part about Tata is that they will honour the warranty and replace in case of issues which even skoda will not do.Just try googling for skoda problems.Sad that y...ou are facing problems like these.Do update after the engine replacement is done.This could have been due to coolant leakage you had mentioned, which could have led to engine damage.This could have happened with any car.Read More
