Take it to the work shop as this looks like a problem with ecu controller, there is a switch which is controlled by the ECU.

Yes you are right the needle does go down. There is a reason for that. The car always starts in petrol mode and stays there till you hear the changeover sound'. That varies from time to time, depending on various parameters, decided by the ECU of the car. I think a full tank should last you about 5-...6 thousand kms, before you have to fill up. This is if you never run out of lpg. Please note that the car once if it has switched over to lpg mode will not i repeat will not switch to the petrol mode unless manually done. But the car does take a little time to switch over. Hope this answers you query.Read More

Chimpaku Absolutely no problem with the power windows as the vxi model comes with the same. They just replce the whole assembly, as all the grooves and the fitting for the mechanism are already there. I could not find any traces of a post factory fittment. The power windows work just fine, but ...get it done from maruti only with a nippon certificate of MGP. The wiring is very easy as the they have to just attach a connector as the wiring is already there from the starter. That is the reason why its good to get it done from maruti as the MGP power windows come with the wiring. It took about 1/2 an hour to fix both the power windows!Read More

As far as the speakers are concerned i have a tray that has been installed like a parcel tray, only diff is that it is fixed as i dont intend to use the boot too much. Another advantage pointed out by a friend of mine is that the LPG tank will always remain cool as there is no direct sunlight fallin...g on it, as well as the cooling is also supposed to improve as there is no boot to cool. standars 4' speakers in the front ans 6x9 in the rear is what i have installed. As far as teh LPG mode os concerned you can force the LPG mode by long pressing the LPG/petrol switch in the ignition on mode. it switches to permanent LPG right from the start. Sometimes when the car is really cold it may not happen but the moment you start the car in petrol you can do the same to forcibly switch it to LPG. The other thing is do not give race to the car while starting it your foot should not be on the accelerator. Let the ECU of the car control the RPM on its own. Also the car is supposed to adjust the RPM automatically to switch on to the LPG mode. I f your car does not start without pressing the accelerator please take it to your service guy and get it rectified. Remeber a lot of fuel is wasted if you pump the accelerator while starting. The mileage update is their on my review. Read More

Go for the tubeless tires anyday, they are more comfortable(by a mile), they grip better. The only disadvantage is that they wear out faster than normal tube tire upto 20 % faster, on the whole worth it! I know this from personal experience as i have two honda's, one fitted with tube and the other w...ith tubeless. As far as the price difference goes, tell the tire dealer that he you will give him the original tires from the moment you get the delivery itself,he should reduce the price by another 2 to 3 hundred rupees. The price of the power windows is 5758.22 + 12.5 % tax and 450 rupees for fitting, from the showroom ! As for the LPG problem i am still waiting to run out of LPG. I have also updated my review.Read More

Update 27/08/2006:- I have driven the car for 400 kms Mileage 11.5 km/l on gas and all in the city . This is with the air con switched on at all times. that works out to be 2.42 rs / km which is pretty decent as the car has to be broken into yet. Will know the real mileage after 1000- 5000 kms. ...Cons: The doors are like our old ambys they dont close without a bang have to talk to maruti about it plus the stereo is making a rattling sound Read More

Oh my god! that is what comes to mind after hearing what you are going through. My dear friend please and i mean pleaseeeeee do not accept this as a solution. The car will never be the same again. You have bought a new car and a car run a 1000 kms is more or less not even broken into. Please mak...e all your correspondence with the dealer as well as maruti udyog in writing and preferably by registered post with ad. Make sure that you write to anyone and everyone in the company. This is necessary because the indian consumer is always taken for a ride and it;s time to stand up against such monoplistic attitude. i would actually suggest you to write to them that you will not accept anything less than a new car. The other step should to file a case in the consumer court. Also write to the car magazine Autocar and ask for help. The seem to help in reaching out to the right people in these companies. i would also like to know who is your dealer in trivandrum. Its time to take action my dear friend and break a few windows at the dealer ship. They need to be taught a lesson that no consumer can be taken for a ride. As far as i can remember is that the consumer court has become a very efficient place to obtain justice and no company worth its salt is going to risk its reputation. Also compensation in regard to the amount of time your car was in the workshop for which you had to travel by other means plus the interest you have had to pay for your loans and a suitable compensation for the mental agony you are being put through should also be sought. Also you should go to the other dealers in your city and ask them whom to contact in maruti and their addresses in gurgaon as a rival dealer will always love to se the other dealer down. Please keep us informed and all the bestRead More
