Just like not every guy is an idiot, not everyone will have pleasant experience with everything. I am not an agent who gets commission by selling credit cards. I am also not the kind of guy who simply creates logins for the sake of condemning reviews. I notice that most of the people who have marked... my reviews as NU have actually got nothing to say about rest of the world except Standard chartered cards.... how strange !!!! I on the other hand have so many things to talk about... check my profile. If somebody didn't get good service my condolences are with you but you have no right to stop me from endorsing anything. Till date I recommended this card to 5-6 friends of which only 1 bought the card. 1 other guy didn't proceed because Std Chrtd was not ready to give the card as life time free. By the way how many of these people who are calling the bank criminal has filed a police complaint against the bank? I might be 1/50 people who are happy with the credit card but I don't care because I have written I had a pleasant experience. I never said that everybody will have the same kind of experience. PS: Cash back is now applicable only for transactions above 1000 and not 500 as it used to be. I should say I am disappointed with this move but I didn't feel its big enough reason for me to close this card.Read More

Thanks for all the lovely comments given for my review. Update after 2 yrs: I got rid of my HSBC platinum cc for the simple reason that I was not using it regularly and they informed me that the life time free card will start attracting annual charges. No regrets with that card. I am planning t...o get rid of my SBI gold cc. I recently used my points to get a 1+1 free sandisk pen drive. I got a ICICI cc recently and yet to write a review about it. Yes, I still hold my Manhattan Platinum card from Standard Chartered. It has been renewed once since the day i got it. It is still the card I use the most. I havent got the credit limit increased even though they offered it thrice till date. Changes for the card in the mean time: Along with the general conditions for getting the cash back, a new condition is introduced - the transaction amount should be 1000 and not 500 any more. So, if i am using for so long, i should have got good cash back right? Yes quite some amount. Then I should have also got good number of points, right? Yes. I used the points to get a philips digital photo frame. Not really impressed though... coz for the mrp of the product, philips should have given remote control which is not the case. The software isnt great it cant auto orient based on the photo. Till date I havent used any balance transfer or used the emi facility or any such feature of my card; not even when SC says it is reducing the rate of interest to 1.49% per month. Always paid amount rounded off to the upper rupee eg, if the payment due is 10456.67, i pay 10457. Never missed paying the due amount before due date which means no late payment fee and no interest. Called up customer care almost thrice in these 2 years only when i had to change my address (yes i stay in rented house in bangalore). My friend took the SC manhattan platinum card but he chose the points and not cash back card. He doesnt have complaints about the card but he regrets choosing the pointsRead More
