29th Nov 2020. Update after 6 years of usage. We are still very happy with the water purifier. All the filters have been changed multiple times expect for the RO filter, which was changed once. The system is working great. No problem to date. The system has not failed for a single day. This is in Ko...lkata. At our Bangalore home I did not buy this purifier, though I really wanted to, as this one has an external canister filter. I needed a system where everything is included in one single unit. All due to lack of space. But this system has been very reliable. I don't want to say anything about the services. That's a problem with any brand. I am fortunate to know an ex company technician who has changed the filters as needed without any over selling. I never went for AMCs. We should remember that any product we buy is a commodity and has a life. Don't let anyone oversell by trying to tell you something is needed and essential etc. Just don't get cheated! Remember everyone is trying to make a living by any means. All the best.Read More

Hi everyone, sorry I couldn't log in early enough to answer your queries. Our PureIT water purifier is running absolutely fine. We had to change the external filter in the canister that supplies water to the purifier. It was clogged and used up. Apart from that the first set of filters in the purifi...er GKK1 have been 70% consumed. They will run for few months more I guess. But the RO filter is fine. Service engineer came to have a check while he replaced the external filter and mentioned that rest of the unit is working fine. Since we did not have any problem and service was absolutely prompt, I am increasing the rating. Cheers IndrajitRead More

Am not sure how and why my review on IFB Digital 5kg washing machine was moved under Eva VX catagory. To all readers, my review is NOT ON IFB EVA VX! It is on a 8 years old model DIGITAL 5kg. But you all may find few information in my review useful.

Hi nvngpt31, It is true that IFB doesn't sell some spares. It is also interesting that you may find these spares in international market and at very cheap price. Only minor hassle is to get them delivered. Am not sure if this is their way of making business. If that is true, god save them as Indi...an consumers are getting smarter!! Regards IndrajitRead More

Hi shplbags, Am sorry to hear that and thanks for your comment. Many Indian companies take consumers for granted and make use of our ignorance. Charge exorbitantly for services and rather cheat even when the problem is a minor one. (Please check my recent review update on Washing machine...). Please choose products wisely and not go by ads. Here in Mouthshut you will get a lot of inputs on the quality and services on individual products. Let us, the Indian consumers, not be fooled by the companies with their ads and false claim and promises. Loads of information on products are available on the internet. So lets be smart consumers and push back those with false claims. Best Regards IndrajitRead More

Hi probuddha, Sorry for a late reply! The device is working very well. A service engineer from Pureit visited my home for a checkup and said everything is just fine. The water taste is still as good as bottled mineral water. I was pretty amused that in recent ads from a couple of companies inc...luding Pureit now mention '100% RO purified'. For the product Ultima, I highly recommend it and am planning to buy another one for my residence in Bangalore. For the water wastage part, I can not compare much against other similar devices. I have a large drum to store the waste water and use it for other jobs as cleaning and watering plants. Regards IndrajitRead More

I was researching on the available RO purifiers in Kolkata market. Kind of zeroed down on Kent Supreme, Livpure Touch 2000 and Pureit Ultima. After a long time, here comes another review from my end. I thought it is worth writing about. I was debating on XBOX 360 with Kinect vs. Playstation 3 Move bundle just as anyone would while going for a console for the first time. Hi, Am not sure what the offer was in the month of July, But in Aug - Sept offer MS has clearly mentioned what comes free upon redemption at https://www.microsoft.com/india/Xbox360offers/ I bought the XBOX 250GB console at about 18,700/- and got the 2 DVDs as indicated. I bought the Kinect sen...sor separately, which was bundled with Kinect Adventures. So that is all I received. Also interestingly upon registration of the product at XBOX LIVE, the warranty information showed valid only for 4 or 5 months. i went on online chat with XBOX LIVE support and got the problem resolved instantly. So I think the customer support with me was excellent. Please try to follow up with the XBOX LIVE customer care support and it will surely be good. I have a lot of my friends who are using XBOX for several years. They got their RROD consoles replaced even after warranty. So please have a direct word with XBOX customer support. Any retailer information on the freebees unless they show an advertisement on the same, should not be considered. Hope you get what you deserve.Read More

Hi kaly42, I guess I can't blame Dell for that. I believe nothing comes cheap. We should get out of that economy band to appreciate the real world gizmos. At my office we all use only Dell Products and I can vouch for all that 99% of us are more than happy with Dell Monitors. For Office work we... use the Ultrasharp Monitors and they do not really come cheap. You can't expect a Tata Nano to have better driving experience when compared to Maruti Swift. I would say you get what you pay for. For your economy monitor I would suggest you to calibrate it. I am sure it would be little better if you properly calibrate the monitor. Go to the graphic card application and then try to calibrate with it. If you can't find it please let me know the graphic card that you have and I may try to help you on this. I have XFX 8800GTS 512MB graphic card, which is a NVidia card and upon calibration my monitor gives brilliant picture. I do a little bit of photography too and am very happy with my monitor output. Hi atuldpatil, You are right on the fact that the USBs turn off when the monitor is powered off. I would say that its a very minor issue if it is at all! Lets not judge a monitor by its added features and peripherals. USBs provided with this monitor are useful for thumb drives and accessories like g...ame-pads and joysticks or even a pen tablet. They provide easy connections. I use only these accessories with the monitor USBs. If you need to plug in an external HDD, it is always advisable to plug it to the main CPU Cabinet and not to any extension ports. That may not be very good for the external HDDs in the long run. regards IndrajitRead More

Hi, After an hour long selection process I ended up buying this 280lt fridge. But the model number is different. Its RT29CDU and has a steel mirror finish door panel. This one has 3 shelves apart from the fruit box top shelf. And there is a box like compartment on the door, which I didn’t see ...in the other model. RT29BDMS. This model was also Rs 800/- higher than the other one because of mirror door finish. But still no freezer lamp. The main chamber lighting in white LED, which I didn’t like much. I would prefer the normal lighting as in other fridges. We need a larger freezer and so this was kind of perfect. Its already stuffed full :) The other fridge that I liked was Godrej EON. Similar capacity but was bit wider. So it has little more space inside. Also the cool shower tech that they talk about is a nice idea to have. Only problem was, the door was absolutely empty. Only 4 shelves and 2 of them were too narrow to hold only eggs or lemon. So I think Samsung heard your comment partly :) Regards IndrajitRead More

Hi sksjimmy, There are a lot of negatives around us every moment if we think of it. And if we think we are doing good pointing it out, its absolutely incorrect. Every reader of these comments add to the negative feelings that they may already have. It would rather be better, if we can try and ...correct it instead of talking about it and leaving it there. Also it is better not to comment on anything that we know about only a little bit. Forget about using bad language. These kind of comments only expose the untamed and negative mind that we may possess, inspite of the ’’progress’’ of civilization. If you feel the school could have done better, you should talk to the teachers and with a progressive attitude. Please don’t mudsling as it will lead us nowhere. Cheers IndrajitRead More

Haha, I would be surprised if my kid doesn’t come home with mud in his pants. I would rather be happy to know that he is playing in the school’s sand pit and is socializing with his friends. That is what the kids should do. I guess the detergent adds on TV would help you feel a bit better. ... Teachers are not nurses to take care of all the children every moment. I am sure they give first aid if it is required. A small cut or bruise is expected when the kids are playing. Let’s not panick on the little issues. Schools impart teachings, behaviours, knowledge. And it is our equal responsibility to assist the school in doing so. Petty things are better left that way. There are more serious issues to handle. When my son beat up a little girl, her mother came and told me and my wife not to scold our son and let the two little fellows sort it out themselves. Rather coach him that he shouldn’t have done what he did. I was completely impressed on this behaviour of the fellow parent. I share the same views and treat my son who’s now 3 and half years as I would treat my friend and not a kid. Let the children grow and let’s just watch, and help only when needed. Not wrap them around and protect from nature (mud!!). Regards Indrajit PS: I allow my son to pick up eatables from floor at home and eat.. it wont kill anyone.. only at the most, give a stomach trouble. I belive it would make them more immune and stronger. By the way, we clean the floors at home regularly, such that the roaches wont leave their footprints around :)Read More

Birshah, If you haven't yet confirmed, I would say consider NHPS too. SSB International may be good but when I went there, I found it too easy to get admission there. Only you need to carry money when you go there for 'interview'. Further I did not like the school infrastructure. Its a house co...nverted to a school. The stairs are steep and not appropriate for children. Rooms are dark. Only the parent's waiting area looks like a hotel with AC and comfortable seats. I don't know about their functioning so I can't comment. All I can say without comparing anyone is, NHPS is a good school to be considered. Regards IndrajitRead More

I disagree with the negative comments on NHPS. My son is studying there and though the fees are a bit steep, I get a bank receipt for each and every paisa I spend for his school fees. And with the kind of activities they do, I am ok with their fee structure. Tell me how many schools have 2 teachers ...and an aaya per nursery class and who take good care of their children. If you see the report card of nursery classes this year, you will know how much effort the teachers are putting on each and every child. My son is so happy with the school that he wants to get back there all time. Further he has improved tremendously in past 1 year. So before you try to spoil the reputation of a person or a school, please avail a chance to review well and then comment. Sitting outside and commenting is easy but of no value. HI kuns2s, Sorry for a late reply. I called up Dell and had to share my credit card detail (the scary part) and the order was booked. Received the order detail in a couple of days via email. I was given the order number, with which I could track day to day on the progress.. from manufacturing t...o shipping status. It took about 10 days (I guess) for the shipment to arrive. The monitor was well packaged and with easy assembling instructions for the cables and stand.Read More
