You remind me so much of the laid back life in Sikkim man... you are absolutely true when you say that people don't know what STRESS is in Sikkim. A couple of my friends are working with the Sikkim Armed Police, some work for the papers there... and yes , Sikkim has absolutely zero crime ...rate.. (though you do hear of sporadic incidences...).. but compared to rest of India, its zilch... :)
Any one of you, going to Sikkim, I would recommend you to do one thing for sure (coZ I loved it...)... go to Cafe Tibet or Square (the old one)... take a window seat... and order coffee ..(if you going to Cafe Tibet, then stick to coffee.. black.. only!! LOL... snacks aint so good thr.. but the owners are nice)... and while you sit at the window, just look out.. you'll see the mighty mountains... and if the day is clear, maybe the Kanchendzhonga... trust me, ull never forget this experience...Read More

Enjoyed this post... I've been to Sikkim many times.... 11 times to be precise... People kept telling me 'Go to Sikkim only during March-June' coz after that it gets brrrrr....... I went only once dring that period and I didnt enjoy myself then... too crowded... I used to visit Gangtok... only during the off-peak period, coz then hotels are cheaper, lesser number of people swarmin the road... I have awesome friends thr... I miss sitting with them at the Buzz (Ive heard that has been sold off or somethin) and Indulge, and sepdn hours chatting , while sipping beer... Im not sure if this place ,Samsara, is thr or not...! that was my fav hangout place... it used to open till late at night (sadly, life in gangtok ends by 9 at night :( ).... Sighhh.... I MISS SIKKIM SOOO MUCH!! After you begin working, u hardly get time man... :( Sitting near Sikkim tourism, staring at the Kanchenjunga or a clear day... a bliss indeed!!Read More

Sadly, Times now has adopted the methods of Hindi news channels to sensationalise news items (even if they do not exist!!)... Everythin is breaking news for them... You should watch their coverage of IPL ALL STARS. The panel consists of people like Charu Sharma , Boria Mazumdar and actors. Its so ba...d .... they criticise everythin... The pitches are different in South africa, and yet they lament 'I mean, who would wanna watch these matches??? We didn't see so many sixes.. I think players have forgotten how to bat!!!'... LOL

Moji is dogri for mother.... even if you don't know the lingo, the term has been repeated so many times that one could have easily guessed what that meant.... anyway...
the only nice thing abt the movie were the locations... and yeah, kashmir isnt the only sensitive issue to make movies abt...

Somehow I found the movie quite stupid. I wonder why they had to choose Ayesha Dharkar in the lead. The girls 'working in her call center' looked a lot better than her. Hotel Kamasutra scene was out of the world man, and ayesha dharkar telling the american that she was engaged to her father's friend...'s son , when she was a child was the funniest part of the movie. Had I known that the secret of gettin laid lay in being a call centre executive, I probably would have been one by now... LMAO...

Funny you should that... But before you point fingers at MIT, I must tell you that this is the state of affairs in ALL the private engineering colleges. I am a MIT pass out (batch 2007) and yes, i do agree that the faculty is not something we can boast of. But on the other hand, its not even the wor...st!! Your review is the worst of all the reviews I've ever read, not because you have tried your level best to show the book in poor light, but more because, you have ranted and raved for no sound reason. You must understand that each author is different and is illogical to compare authors. For example, ...Dostoevsky and R. K. Narayan, were both amazing authors, but of totally different genre. Furthermore, instead of just trying to let us know what type of books work in India and also the UK, it would have been better had you listed the drawbacks of the book. To be honest, there was no hype attached to this book. It simple tells the story of an IAS officer, who doesnt like the nature of his work, finds it dull and above all, is stuck in a god forbidden place called Madna for training.
Is it so hard for you to read about the state of affairs of our own bureaucracy?? try and appreciate the novel, for not only has he dealt with the way our nation works, but also has done it with humour attached to it. But then going by your review, I think you;re not the one who likes to smile or even laugh, but rather believes in being critical for no reason at all..
anyway... maybe it would have been better had you 'burnt half a liter of my blood!!'... LMAO..... whatever that meant dude!!
