What can I say??? everyone's always complaining how Indian Film music is sounding the same in every film.... and then along comes an album that breaks and redefines the mould completely.... so what do we do... we start comparing it to Rock legends like Metallica and feel it's not good enough! Lets... not forget that it is music for a film after all... it is not a private album. Have any of you heard music like this in a film in recent years??????????????? My opinion is that Shankar Ehsaan Loy team up with Javed Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar to strike gold. From the opening track 'Socha Hai?' through till the closing track 'Phir Dekhiye' the album is like a breath of fresh air for listeners who were beginning to wonder if dance music was all left for Indian film music to offer. The instrumentation is true to the Rock genre with the right amount of melody and grunge mixed together. Farhan lends credible vocals to all his tracks and surprises you with an unbelievably soul stirring rendition of the the ballad 'Tum Ho Toh'. Exceptional. Caralisa and Dominique sooth you with angel like voices. Suraj Jaggan displays some serious chops on Zehreele, although I feel that this song may be a bit too niche. Javed Akhtar seems to have turned a new leaf with his writing on this album. Young, contemporary and very edgy... it is hard to believe that this is the same man who wrote the songs of a film like 'Jodha Akbar' earlier this year!!!! All in all, it is the sound and voice of the new generation. A must buy. A must listen. A new age Film Sountrack! Rock On!!Read More
