I see most of your review(the 1st half) is a total rip off from another website...and all the accolades are going to you ...tsk tsk...(check out keralabest.com)...the 2nd half of your review looks original so why plagiarise the rest???This site is for ORIGINAL stuff...changing Calicut to Kozhikode d...oesn't count as original!!! I take back what I said in my previous comment ('detailed!!')about your effort...your review made me get interested in more places and when I google...i find your article was a copy from another!!Very disappointing...Read More

Good review...comprehensive!Looks like a lifetime of research went into it!! i'd like to add something for people who look for a light snacky meal...there are loads of bakeries(on Mavoor Rd and near the Taj flyover) where u can grab a subway sandwich or a burger and a juice.

Nice website... Sad thing is many of the activities are closed to unconnected people(as u urself said!)..and am not a fish-fan..so that eliminates half the places/things to do...but am sure it would appeal to those who have a liking for fish/fishing! The drives are good though...have done those......as are the beaches further up towards Mahe...the good thing about Calicut is its location-easy to reach better places nearby! Its a very tough place to have a good time if you haven't lived here most of your life/had family that has...the most fun locals have in their daily life is with their community clubs/members only events. Not much for a person passing through on assignment for a few months. Not much scope to mingle with the locals unless you chance upon some who speak English/Hindi or are polite enough to speak in a mix of Malayalam n a common language so u have a chance to pick it up!!! Am sure you're very passionate about Kerala cos this is where you belong...and you probably miss it cos u r away right now...and that's precisely my point-u love it if you belong-but unlike other parts of the country where you wish you belonged-this place doesnt leave you with that warm welcome feeling...what I think most people here fail to understand is just how closed this state is(in terms of language/culture/things to do) to someone who is completely new to it! Like the assumption that 1.everyone will understand the language you choose to speak 2.everyone eats fish 3.coconut oil is the cooking medium of choice everywhere/liked by all 4.driving down narrow roads at 80kmph and expecting everyone to move out in time is how its done everywhere! No place is perfect..and nor is this one...just as I've been asked to be open to this place...i ask you to be open to the fact that not everyone thinks this is Gods own Country-so dont expect universal love!Read More

You managed to capture nearly everything I'd want to know before I visit the restaurant... Incidentally..i happen to love their food too!For mocktails I'd suggest the Tomato Cucumber Cooler... And I second you on the Caveat on the crabs...i made the mistake of ordering them...they serve up shr...imp sized tasteless little fellers!!Read More

while i agree that Moore may have highlighted what was already out there-what makes this movie watchable is 'how' he tells the story...its more for the ride...and if you aren't aware of the details-it gives you that.
