Astute observations (as usual) !! Lets dig a bit deeper in your critique, to remove a few unintentional implications of your comments that I feel are not a direct consequence of my writings here. Firstly I do not deny that coaching a team with any sort of history and fan-following in any sport is an... easy or a less pressure job; it's so obvious that failing in noticing it would simply mean blinding yourself from the reality and I don’t intend to be an exception. Also we all understand Woolmer's resilience to soak up the pressure and embark on new challenges, you would certainly not disagree that he was one the most high flier coach in the history of the game AND I refuse to believe that Woolmer died because of his inability to handle pressure. Inquiries from all quarters shall certainly throw more light on this issue sooner or later, to decide the truth of the matter. I will largely reserve my comments on the possibility of Bob's murder, yet one thing is certain, for something of this magnitude to happen, few things must have been really dirty. Imagine, why in India, nothing much happens when we are unceremoniously (usually) thrown out of the competition in other games. Isn’t undue credit given to one particular sport and unreasonable importance attached to winning every game we play? I am somewhat startled at your justification of the incidents that took place after Pak's exit -- 'Shouldn’t there be repercussions?'. In answer I can only say that player are in the game primarily because they love the game, adulation come later and In what capacity we can declare that beyond a certain point it is not a pure nuisance. Take for example, treatment of Kaif's family or very recently Dhoni's in their own cities. Finally, if I don’t standup and shout at the top of my voice, does it mean I am not passionate about cricket or winning for that matter, criticism is an easy process of catharsis but let it not become a source of a lot of unhappiness. Even the most pessimistic of novelist couldn't have conceived of a more tragic end to the magnificent career of these two individua...Read more
