HOW IT ALL BEGAN We’d tried mosquito nets, camphor, smoke-emitting “Tortoises” (and “Samurais” etc), the non-smoking chemicals with “electronic machines”, (some call themselves “macchar ka yamraj”), etc. Sometimes they were warded off for some time, till they sneaked back to their battle z...Read more

i think you have made many relevant points. Great work. Reading your review, I am sure that you have also had some experience in crossing all (or at least some of them !) these hurdles and obstacles that these financial institutions (particularly the newer ones), keep throwing in the way of customer...s. would love to hear about these too.Read More

cont However the company that had fixed the same for us Sanjay Impex, Bangalore, promptly removed the nets; re-stitched a new set, and re-fixed them back immediately. CONCLUSION We found the insect netting, to be very efficient in keeping out the mosquitoes and flies, (and other flying insects!), pr...ovided we kept the doors leading out from the house closed in the evening (during swarming time). But invariably someone would leave the door open or perhaps it was opened when guests came visiting us in the evening. A few mosquitoes would then have sneaked in. These would trouble us no end (especially now that the family had got used to mosquito-free nights). The solution for these infiltrators was to “zap” them. But more of that in my write-up on “Playing Badminton with Mosquitoes”.Read More

We’d tried mosquito nets, but somehow when we got up after spending the night slapping in our sleep, we’d find that quite a few had been actually quite happily imprisoned inside, feasting on us. We...Read more

PLAYING BADMINTON WITH MOSQUITOES INTRODUCTION I wrote about how in our fight to rid our house of mosquitoes, we had finally fixed insect netting. (You can read about this in my in my write-up about insect screens). But a few mosquitoes did manage to infiltrate inside, especially if the door ...Read more
