As I brace myself to end what has been a long professional relationship, it gives me great pleasure in introducing the new Head- Member Support. Please give a warm welcome to Aparajita Natasha Singh. While this name may not ring a bell …. her MouthShut.com ID would.

caretaker

caretaker or Aparajita is an old member on MouthShut.com and some of you may have an acquaintance with her. She is now part of the official team here since last week.

caretaker has a formidable task at hand but I am sure she will live up to her name – caretaker – and contribute to the MouthShut.com community and its well-being.

Time to say goodbye

Posted on Feb 17, 2010 02:49 PM under General

Dear all:

The countdown has begun. From this Saturday, I shall no longer be Head – Member Support MouthShut.com. This is tough. I had joined MouthShut.com as a trainee right at its inception, almost ten years ago. A decade later, I shall now be putting away the stripes . It has been a great journey, interacting with you and many before you.

Never in my dreams had I thought that the journey would be so long and fulfilling. But as they say all good things come to an end. And some other good things come to the fore. I shall be moving to Birmingham after my marriage next month. Wish I could invite all of you. Some of you would be there – Ishallah as Faisal says.

Towards the weekend you shall be introduced to the new Head – Member Support. Till then have a great week.

Regards,
Jasmine Ahuja

Worst of the Worst Hindi Movies of the decade

Posted on Oct 02, 2009 10:12 AM under General

Hi everyone:

A different diary post this time. Going through thousands of reviews written by our members, we have come up with a list of the worst 9 movies. Obviously, the basis of this list are the reviews written by our members.

This list has been compiled from the reviews which have been posted on MouthShut.com in the last 9 years (MouthShut.com celebrated its 9th anniversary yesterday).

9 Jhoom Barabar Jhoom (2007)
Shaad Ali, riding high on the success of Saathiya got together an ensemble cast. The promos promised an interesting musical, but the end result was “Aagh” or so feel the MouthShut.com members.

MouthShut member review: You will enjoy this movie only if you go drunk.

8. Yaadein (2001)
Hritik Roshan was the toast of the town; the media had made him the uncrowned emperor of Bollywood. Subhash Ghai was still known as the showman. Kareena Kapoor was so hot. The music was melodious and hummable. The movie: just so forgettable, the beginning of Subhash Ghai’s end as a dramatic genius.

MouthShut member review: Yaadein tops my list of my Terrible Movies to Torture Your Soul.

7. Kisna (2005)
Subhash Ghai is at it yet again. This time he tries to salvage his reputation with Kisna starring Vivek Oberoi. Alas!

MouthShut member review: This one is totally out of focus

6. Boom (2003)
Kaizad Gustad was the enfant terrible when he made Bombay Boys and was marked for greatness for his snazzy concoction but Boom bombed big time despite the presence of Amitabh Bachchan.

MouthShut member review: This movie can best be described in a single word - pathetic

5. Neal N Nikki (2005)
Another blooper from Yashraj Films, or rather the first in a long series. It was supposed to be Uday Chopra and Tannisha’s grand comeback but the film with its flimsy base and crude aesthetics got a big thumbsdown from the audience.

MouthShut member review: No need to go and watch this movie, I assure you won’t miss anything, it is too faltu.

4. Kidnap (2008)
Imran Khan was fresh from his debut smash hit, Jaane Tu Jaane Na and a world was expected from him. But Kidnap was too puerile and set nothing but the audiences’ patience on fire. Imran Khan is still hot property but Sanjay Gadhvi is now considered a flukie for his Dhoom series.

MouthShut member review: With Dhoom Sanjay Gadhvi got immense confidence that he could get away with any crap and the audience will be there to applaud.

3.Yuvvraaj (2008)
Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan and Katrina Kaif were in front of the camera while AR Rahman made merry with Gulzar on his keyboard. But the public knew it was an unmitigated disaster right from the word go since the movie was helmed by none other than the badly out of touch Subhash Ghai.

MouthShut member review: Subhash Ghai has not learnt from his mistakes.

2. Girlfriend (2004)
What happens when two women break into a clinch in a dream sequence and that too in all bad taste, all under the misdirection of Karan Razdan? It stinks real bad!

MouthShut member review: Are lesbians like this? Girlfriend uses all the possible clichés available to come up with the most pathetic movie of the year.

1. Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag (2007)
Ram Gopal Varma had the gumption of remaking Sholay and doing the shoddiest remake ever in the history of Indian cinema; he really had the guts of creating a mess of Gabbar Singh by making Amitabh Bachchan ham till he became a hamburger.

MouthShut member review: Wut the Hell was that.......Thats all I have to say.

What is the importance of these reviews?

These review snippets are of those movies which were hated by MouthShut.com members and have received the lowest recommendations from them over the years. How authentic are they? Well? Check out the reviews and also the box office records of these movies
