Kosher Vegetarian seems to be a great movie for the serious cine buffs.  It has been shot in US with our own Irfan Khan and Natalie Portman of Star wars fame.  The film is about a mixed racial marriage between Gujju and Jewish culture.  How the movie pans out in the end after editing will be interesting to watch.  Read on TOI extract.

In the film, Irrfan plays a Gujarati man married to a Jew girl, Natalie Portman. The film deals with cultural exchange between two old religions and how two individual from distinct cultural backgrounds come together and get married. And one of the incidents pictured in the film was rather very unique.

Not many know that the Jews do not make body contact while making love as they believe it is very sacred so they make a hole in a bed sheet and then they make love that is what Irrfan had to experience while shooting "It was a different experience for me all together, especially shooting that particular scene," he says. For his part Irrfaan also had to learn how Gujarati's talk and also read quite a few books to understand the Gujarati culture. "I called up few of my Gujarati friends for tips on Gujarati culture and tradition," he says. But at the end it was the loving making scenes which turned out to be most amusing and unique for the versatile actor. "I'm not allowed to talk much about the film, but each time, I shoot for Mira's film, I learn something new. She understands her craft so well and that's makes it easy for an actor like me."

He's also glad that Mira has repeated him after Namesake

"I hope to become a permanent fixture in all her films," he smiles.
