Maybe its midlife crisis... or the male equivalent of a menopause... after all the word does have MEN in it... but I've had a bone to pick with everything of late...
This city's crawling with abandoned animals... let me share one experience... Was driving past good old Barista in Koramangala, Bangalore when I saw a mare in the middle of the road. She was standing there and everyone was just driving around. Parked my car and went up to the mare and took a good look at it... no tags, no signs of ownership.
Now being an idiot, I start talking to the mare... trying to keep her calm and get her off the road. Discovered two things... she had a cataract in one eye and she was pregnant. Asked people around and they said that the poor animal had been abandoned three months ago!
The weird thing was... was talking to a mare... and girls from the nearby college were passing by and giggling... thinking I had gone cuckoo... completely flown the coop... hibiscus flower in the ear syndrome... well giggle all you want...
Called the cops and did a rescue effort... several carrots and some coaxing later, she was bundled into a set of wheels and taken to a farm. Happy and free.
Then a week ago, my friend found a Husky puppy, an amazingly beautiful creature... wee and furry... abandoned! We made a huge effort to find a vet. One was busy, the other had guests and another was a million light years away... finally got hold of the only reliable vet in this place and he found out that the poor creature had canine distemper... fatal... The pup was put to sleep...
One vaccination could have saved it... just one vaccination.
Between all the trees being massacred and the animals being abandoned, am starting to wonder... and i'll keep those thoughts to myself
And they just blew billions trying to find out when the world will end...
