White is in; in the Indian Film Industry

Everytime I see clippings of songs for a Hindi movie I see the firang ladies gyrating in the background. Few years back that happened in 1 in 10 songs then it became 5 in 10 songs now it is all the songs. However only the gori girls appear in these songs but not the gora boys except when the song is shot on a foreign location and that too very rarely.

In our industry we have a lot of pretty young girls who do great at dancing but they are nowhere in scene now however the average looking Indian men still get to hog the space in the background with our hero heroines.

What does this lead to; that being a Man's world gori women are welcome but not the gora boys .Basically this is what the men in the industry and the men sitting in the theatres want to see.

These white girls mostly belong to poor east European countries whose average daily wage in their country is 1/10th of what they get paid here. Even in more advanced countries like UK they work for very small amount as compared to their other counterparts, well same goes with Indians too in many parts of the world they are hired because they are cheaper but in this segment not just that they are cheaper they are also having white skin which many Indian men drool for but this has lead to complete wipe off of the Indian girls.

Forget the gori item numbers in Hindi movies. The list of heroines in the South Indian films, not most of them know that they actually come from North India. I was once watching a Tamil Music channel with my Tamil friends and I could point out 8 out of 10 heroines I saw as North Indians an they could not believe it (since they are not into Hindi world so how would they know). Here too how many North Indian men can be seen in the movies not one or very few mostly in negative roles. That means audience is fine to see the fairer north Indian girls in the movies but cannot digest their fairer male counterparts; again Chauvinism and basically here too men rule. As heroes they still want to see the darker heroes with beard and moustache and not so fit at most of the times as against a smarter leaner North Indian.

Now even in Hindi movies the Firang ladies are coming directly in the Main Leads, not surprising that Imtiaz Ali did not get a single Punjabi kudi to play the role of Harleen in his Love Aaj Kal. Common are you telling us that the Brazilian girls are more Panjabi and coy than Indian girls. Agreed the girl suited the role perfectly but I cannot digest he could not have found similar girl in this big country.

Anyways now we have Giselle, than Jacqueline and many more to come . The reining queen today Katrina Kaif that is Katrina Tortequette (Kaif being a false surname, which many people still do not know) is a big source of inspiration for them .Never mind at least she looked Indian and we all thought she was half Indian hence the likeability was more but know they do not need to have false surnames either as they are very much welcome in this Industry. Here 5 sisters who look absolutely firang are in queue to join the Hindi film industry soon.

I would like to highlight here I have no issues about the lovely ladies coming and enjoying here as they too put in lot of hard work but then should not the women also expect similar entrants. I guess we would also like to see a Hot Brazilian Male playing a Punjabi Munda which he surely would be able to carry off. If Giselle can so can an Antonio or Marcus etc, we would also want to see cool Firang dancers in the background with our heroes than he shorter darker boys. Common leading men hey won’t overshadow you.

Men are delighted with the white babes scorching the screens; it would be even delightful if we get the see some Greek gods scorching the screen as well.
