My search for the right school for my kid helped me understand what are the few things one should look at while selecting the right school for ones child:

So, here I am writing down a few of the points to keep in mind while choosing a school for your child. I have had my fair share of experience on visiting various these schools Orchid International, Vibgyor High, Trio, Ryan and many others.

  1. Discipline is one of the primary or may be the most essential parameters in selecting a school for your child and this comes from great leadership at school. Schools which has a great disciplinarian at the helm tend to have higher percentage of students excelling in school. A child needs to understand the value of discipline at a very early age and the school can develop discipline very early on in an individual's life.

  2. Great leadership at school matters a lot. Schools which has a great disciplinarian at the helm.

  3. High Expectations from Students. This is a definite sign of a good school - a school which wants to do well for itself has high expectations from their students. There is a culture of Expectation and Growth. This helps motivate the students to perform at their best and achieve great results for them as well as for their schools.

  4. Schools that keeps the students sufficiently engaged in different aspects of learning - academics as well as non-academics. helps the students learn more per minute of time spent. Great schools have a proper engagement plan for the students.

  5. Schools which encourage parent participation. Parents who actively involve themselves and participate in the schools activities help the schools achieve great results. Parents are the single most important source of feedback to the schools. This can help schools keep themselves accountable for achieving strong results through continuous feedback and action.

  6. Schools which have a well structured and engaging curriculum helps student bring out the best in them

  7. Schools which lay equal importance on non-academics(sports, performing arts, etc) as well as non-academics and helps in the all round development of a child.

So good luck to all parents. May you find a safe and secure oasis of learning.
