Everyone in India knows that there are a few states which are really poor, and one of them is Orissa. Its a state which had its own role in freedom struggle, has intellectual presence nationwide. Jayadeva, one of the greatest poets belongs to this state, Gopabandhu Das a renowned thinker hails from this part. The beautiful Konark Temple and the beaches of Puri are World Famous. The Great King Ashoka had chosen this place for his port in Jaugard. Not only these its geographical location has great value, as there are lots of mineral resources still buried down under. This state has got a long coastline which favours a lot of trade and development. But despite all this we are one of the poorest states in the country,a state which contributes to the large pool of IT professionals.
The most funniest part is that we even celebrate the festivals after everyone in the country has celebrated, today was a day when everyone celebrated Holi, but we are going to do it tomorrow. Its not only with Holi, many other major festivals like Deepawali is also celebrated a day after the rest of the country does.
I am putting my own efforts to my extent to see my state to be ahead with the rest of the country, I will really known that we are progressing when the next time we celebrate at least the festivals with the rest of the country.
