Are you fed up looking at the stack of old gadgets, books, and magazines in your room?
Amazon has launched it's "Sell as Individual" service in India through which users will be able to sell their used goods on the website
What makes the service unique is that amazon will be providing product delivery assistance. To put it simply, unlike other websites where we have to personally meet the prospect and sell our products amazon will send us a representative who will visit pick up the products from the sellers' place and drop it to the buyer's place.
Once the delivery is completed, the money will be wired to you in about 3-5 days
However, there is a catch! Amazon will charge the sellers Rs 10 for every item they sell below Rs 1000. Rs 50 for every item sold between 1000 and 5000, and Rs 100 if the item costs more than 5000
As of now, the pilot project is being tested only in Bangalore
The landing page for selling goods will be on junglee.com, a startup acquired by amazon in 1998
With Amazon providing such an user-enriching experience, other online selling marketplaces will have to change gears or else they will be left behind the curve
