Tough times never last, but tough people do !!

Robert H. Schuller had wisely said that "Tough times never last, but tough people do"

Like every wise saying, this statement itself holds a deep meaning.

However the irony is, only those who have passed this phase would agree to it. For the ones who are

still undergoing may take it as a motivation or not believe it depending on the adversity.

As William Shakespeare said "There's not one wise man among twenty will praise himself", I too should not boast upon the tough times i've seen and have recovered fast enough. However thinking of them makes me admire Robert Schuller's words.

Honestly, most of you would agree with me that these tough times itself make you stronger in life.

Fortunately or unfortunately I have been going through the same phase again currently in my

professional life and I wish god gives me the power to handle the same smartly and bravely.

I wish to share the basic rules I follow in life to survive in these downtimes:

  1. Remain optimistic: Tough times make you lose your mind sometimes. One loses hope and advocates pessimism. Remaining optimistic may not change the things completely however may lessen the damage it may cause.

  2. See the big picture: In life one should analyse things and when working on the things one should think of the big picture. Our efforts may seem small and we may tend to think that just this much would not make a difference however we should create the ability to see how our small efforts would change the bigger picture over it.

  3. Make others happy around us: Tensions get often vented on people who are least responsible and you may end up suffering your good relations. So be cool and make others happy. Atleast someone would be happy if not you :)

  4. Analyse your day: I remember when I was a child, I used to walk on my terrace every night and think about what went good/bad during my day and make assumptions (maybe wrong at times) about people and things around me. This helped me make good decisions in life today.

  5. Remember god is one the only one: Love your god and belive in him.

  6. Give to others in need.

  7. Remain focused on what really matters.
