Today's miseries

I am late

Rushing out of the house, sending a prayer to the traffic-god for an empty road today, I run into my neighbor.

She is a kind hearted lady though a bit of a chatterbox. Er., Did I say a bit? Make that a very big Bit. She fills me in about a charity event from her church and insists that I participate in it this Sunday.

.....I try to gently, ever so gently, tell her that I would love that as much as I would love getting malaria.

She just refuses to oblige me by taking hints.

And I am late

So mournfully I give in, hoping Sunday is a day I can tackle later.

I run down the stairs and SNAP! The straps on my 3-day old Metro heels give away!!

Grrrr! Wait till I write a review on Metro Shoes!

In lightening speed I run up the stairs and switch into another pair and rush back down ducking away from any other lurking friendly aunties.

And I am late.

I guess they also announced that on the radio; every cyclist born, targets me, all the trucks and maniac buses just pop in front of me. It is a cosmic revenge!!

And I am miserably late.

I walk into the office and my friend gives me a glare that could kill an anaconda

DAMN! I forgot we were supposed to color coordinate our dress today.

I smile limply at her, hoping she will pick a fight with me and I can talk her out of it. She gives me a frozen look and walks away.

Jesus! the “silent treatment”, this is gonna be tougher than I thought!

Well, I park it for the time being; need to “visually appear” in front the boss-man, to let him know that I exist.

Uh ho! Impromptu -Team Meeting!!!

I quietly slip myself in, hoping that he would think I was there all along!

But no! His voice booms “Thank you, Vibes, for gracing us with your presence, And yea! Good Afternoon to you too!”

20 heads turn to look at me.

I grin stupidly.

I just know what my appraisal is going to look like this year!

The marathon team meeting finally concludes.

Oh! You ask “what happened?”

Only that the hounds of hell are on our rear side and the only redemption is to create one trizillion excel reports!!

groan

You would think after all this, the saints above will finally give a girl a break?!!

Not so fast, my friend………….

I still have to face the cafeteria food!!!!! :( :(
