The PC I have used for the first time

Today I finally assembled the long pending PC and installed Windows Vista. It has the following configuration, and guess what, I got it within INR 26,000/-

Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-S2H Mainboard

AMD Phenom X4 9550 Quad Core Processor

Hyundai 4 GB DDR2, 800 MHz RAM

Sony DVD RW, 20X, Dual Layer, LightScribe

Samsung 17" Widescreen TFT monitor

Seagate 750 GB SATA Hard Drive

iBall Cabinet, Mouse & Keyboard

And then I went back to 1995, when I used the first computer (used, not owned as I was told that price was more than INR 1,00,000/-). So I remember, it had the following configuration

Mainboard: Don't know

Processor: Intel 80386 running at 16 MHz

RAM: Probably 4 MB

Hard Drive: None

Flopy Drive: 5.25" (1.2 MB)

Keyboard: 86 keys

Monitor: 14" Monochrome

That time I used to believe that I was using the best computer available . It had MS-DOS 6.22 as Operating System and applications we used to run were WordStar 4.0, Lotus 123, GW Basic, LOGO etc, and I was so contented with that configuration, used to wonder, what will I do with so much space that still remained in one 1.2 MB floppy disk!!!

....and today, after assembling my latest PC, I am wondering, may be a better PC with higher configuration will be available at a lesser price by tomorrow.
