I was never the one to consider myself romantic,
to impress her I neither had the time or inclination to be acrobatic
nor can I follow her around all day, a task she deems automatic.
Am I to be blamed if regard all this routine as idiotic??
My friends were quick to spot "dont knock it till you 've tried it "
to which my quick retort was " save your breath, I dont believe it one bit "
how ironic then, when she walked by whence my heart just lit!
surely not love at first sight?! but I dont see where else it would fit !!
A changed man suddenly, I approached her shy and nervous
Stumbling and mumbling I figured its just going to get tortuous
acknowledging my predicament she spoke first & was ever charming & graceous.
we then shared a long talk where I learned her to be true and virtuous.
Soon we were dating and I had to give my pre concived thoughts a toss,
but anything for her I shall never consider it a loss
slowly realising love isnt about showing whose the boss,
flinging away from my neck my very own albatross.
This was a year ago, now our relationship is strong and steady,
quite assured of tying the knot once we are settled and ready.
I have long since sought forgivness for being so ignorant
of romance which is a way of life & is nothing but pleasant !!
