Today the left affiliated unions of airport workers went for a snap strike and paralysed the functioning of some airports. Specially Kolkata airport is completely shut down! All the outward and incoming flights to Kolkata have been cancelled. Just thinking about the terrible difficulties the passengers have been going through... there is also a general strike at Kolkata and no transport is available for the passengers to go out of the airport.. no food is there for them... I guess in some more airports in the country the passengers facing acute difficulties. This gives the world a very confusing signal about our country.. sitting at this 21st century such kind of strikes bring so much of loss in finance.. unending miseries to the commuters and above all the image of our country gets so much tarnished world over. Just imagine if I have to catch an international flight from Delhi and I am supposed to catch it starting from Kolkata... I feel some serious rethinking is required from all our political parties about the benefit of such strikes.
