I had purchased a Samsung Laser Multi Function Printer on 16-Feb-09 from a Samsung Dealer in Nehru Place. The device was model no. SCX-4500 with S/No. 9767BFFQB00003L. My printer cartridge finished on 1-Jan-12 and I wrote on the Samsung site for the address / no. of dealer from where I could purchase an original Samsung cartridge for this machine.
Samsung called and gave me the no. of Mr. Vaibhav Kalra a dealer in Nehru Place. On contacting him he said this printer was obsolete and company had stopped production 4 years back and I might have bought some last remaining pieces from the dealer. He said it was not possible to get the cartridge as company had stopped production. He asked me to speak with the Samsung ASM, Mr. Tejinder Singh and see if he could do something.
On calling the ASM, he tried to sell me a new Samsung machine saying that why spend so much on a cartridge, better to buy a new machine. I told him I had bought the machine less than 3 years back and it was functioning quite well… They should have not sold the machine if they could not provide supplies. He said he will try and see. He then called to tell me that the dealer would arrange and sell the cartridge for Rs. 4100/- which seemed like a pretty high price. He again tried to tell me to buy a new machine. Anyway I asked for the Cartridge to be sent. It’s been a week since then and Mr. Kalra and Mr Singh of Samsung keep passing the buck amongst each other and the cartridge has still not been delivered.
I wish to forewarn all from buying Samsung printers and MFP’s since their aftersales support seems to be really bad. It seems I lost my money on a brand like Samsung since they sold me an obsolete product.
